Looks like the Webb stalkers are baaaack...!
Maybe Alan has seen the light? 100 mile weeks & 10 mile tempo runs?
I bet he already dropped. Why doesnt his name have a Bib number next to it?
it's probably for the potential prize money - he's a dad now
He's a registered bandit.
Webb running 100 miles weeks will solve everything -- for any potential Webb competitor, 1500 - 10000m.
Alan Webb needs to be running 35 mile weeks, with 2-3 speed workouts per week if he EVER wants to run under 3:50 for the mile. The mile is an anaerobic race which requires tons of 200 and 400 meter repeats and absolutely no long runs.
Who runs faster: Webb or Solinsky?
He's 29 now though, the 5k is more realistic for him to be competitive at.
yeah, that happened to el g and ovett.
Hi Barrett!

It's early October & Webb is doing what is needed. High mileage- only 10 mpw less than Ritz. Plus a little longer distance racing.
Wouldn't it be cool if by 2016, in shocking news that the LRC message board never recovers from, Alan Webb qualifies for the American Olympic Trials in...(drumroll)....the marathon, to race Hall and Ritz!

And then, a classic LRC meltdown ensues when he squeaks in for the third qualifying spot, and Hall, Ritz and Webb run the 2016 Oly Marathon!
I ran the 800 several hours after this race. My teammate was in the race and one of the top finishers. If I recall correctly, it was raining pretty hard and people were slipping into the pit left and right. The pace was real slow and the top 3 were around :60 for the last lap, which is unheard of for college steeple races. They all probably could have gone 10 seconds faster in ideal conditions. Please don't judge Tommy on this race alone.
Time predictions anyone?
Based on the limited data we have, I'm going with a relaxed 48:10.
