I think most people who went to the forum (myself included) went in hopes that some explanation would be given as to why the program went in this direction and why the decision to cut sports was made so swiftly.
I would have liked some of the "data" that was gathered in the year-long process to be shared. For instance, what exactly would the university's sports budget look like in the new model vs. the old model? Since the school made the decision without knowing when the money would ever come, would there have been a larger sum of money that would have allowed for one or more of the cut programs to remain, and could that have possibly come just as quickly?
It's hard to say that the man is underestimated when so many came to give him the benefit of the doubt and he demonstrated such a lack of character and self-control.
