Despite Leo's silver, can we all admit after today's 5th Avenue Mile win that Centro is America's #1 miler? 9/22/2012 10:08PM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
The guy is so smooth and so good tactically. It's a shame he got hurt earlier in the year.

How did Manzano beat him at the Olympics and USAs? I bet it NEVER happens again.

Props to Leo for coming up big twice this year but Centro is the real deal.

Leo is great for sure. His Olympic Silver and maybe Gold in the near future solidifies his place as one of Americas all time greats. With that being said Centro is on track to be the best American 1500m runner of all time. His racing savvy and now being coached at the AlSal camp. No American will touch him when he is healthy for the next 5yrs at 1500m.

Would have liked to see Fernandez with AlSal too. Those 2 have the talent and with the best training in the world could really be contenders on the world stage. Schumacher will break Fernandez. The AlSal program is decades ahead of anything else in the country right meow.

Leo = Best Tactical U.S Racer - race goes out slow His kick at the end of the race will be as fast or faster than anyones in the world

Centro = Best 1500/Miler if running all out from the start, He has a good kick but not to enough to keep up with Leo if the race is run tactically

Leo's been going to White House celebrations and awards shows in LA and such lately. I was surprised he even had enough fitness left to get 3rd. The season's over.

I've said it before, if Centro's semi-heat had not been so fast, he would have had the silver and possibly challenged for the gold. That semi heat killed any chance for anyone out of that group.

It could be that Matt Centrowitz has more aerobic ability and is more efficient, but if Manzano really tries hard and gets an adrenalin rush, he can outkick Centrowitz, especially if Centrowitz is boxed in with the shorter 1500 on the track as opposed to the longer mile on the roads.

Basically Centrowitz runs faster easier, but Manzone if he digs deep can run with him in the big race.

Just a theory.

Manzano is the Olympic Silver Medalist and may be the Gold Medilist this time next year.

Game, set, match.

WTBS- I think Centro will be the greatest
American 1500m runner when all is said and done. All you speculative tards can play fantasy football with the olympics all you'd like... The facts are in results period.

In any given international race, Leo is more likely to be 15th than he is to be in a medal place. He usually comes up big a few times a year, and his olympic silver makes him immortal, but he's not the best in the US.

Centro has proven to be capable of being in the mix in international races every single time he toes the line despite being a rookie last year, and coming off an injury this year. He will be a gold medal threat at the next two world championships, and in Rio.

Ok, I get it now. In order to build up Centro we must belittle the EPIC accomplishments of LEO. I forgot, this is letshate.com and a short Mexican American is not worthy of recognition, accomplishment or success... Got it.

10, 20, 30, 50, .... years from now Leo will still be receiving credit for that silver medal. Any other race will forgotten. Leo ran the best race of his life when it counted.

Had Makhloufi ran in this mile Manzano would have come second.

Manzano is the U.S. Champion & Silver Medalist, beating Centro both times.

Manzano's #1.

Only when Centro exceeds Manzano in the above will he be as good. I don't care how smooth Centro is- Manzano's the Champ & Silver Medalist.

Actually he was both U.S. champion INDOORS and outdoors... 2 U.S. Titles this year over the very good and future super star Centro.
