After years of mooching off my running buddies' Garmins, I now find myslef needing to take the plunge and buy a GPS watch. All I need is a watch that will give me my pace on long runs and for some long workouts (10x1k; 3x4mi at mp, etc.). All I need is accurate pace info, lightweight/small (I have skinny little runner arms) and easy to use.
I am not into downloading results of workouts, heart rate monitors, triathlons, altitude, or any other bells and whistles. I just want to know my pace.
I have seen refurbished Garmin Forerunner 405 online for $150 and change. That would fit my budget. But, I have heard bad things about the 405. The latest Garmin looks really nice, but I do not think I need to drop $350 for a bunch of functionality that I do not want to use.
Any recommendations on a basic GPS watch that will get the job done for as cheap as possible?
