Good Luck, Rob
yawn
bernard lagat has broke 3:35 for 1500 for 16 straight years and counting.
I wonder if running a sub 8 minute 2-mile would give him the following year off, and still keep his record intact?
Then Lagat should get his own thread.
Besides, he only broke 3:35 for 15 straight years. He did not do it in 1997.
(Really, this should be a thread if it hasn't already. Unbelievable)
But this thread is a nice mention to Rob Myers.
Give him his glory.
Go Rob!
thanks for that helpful comment. is rob myers comparing himself to bernard mf lagat?
That is equivalent to 4:17 mile? That is really hauling Wow - nice job Rob and good luck!
Results?
It's actually equivalent to roughly 4:00 for the mile
Is this 10 years straight breaking 4:00 for the mile and not counting 1500 equivilent times? That is rare. Who else other than Steve Scott has done this every year for 10 straight years? I'm not counting Lagat, he was Kenyan until 2005.
A true 10 year string of breaking 4:00 for a mile race every year?
Steve Scott and Jim Spivey are the only names I can guess that have done this among Americans.
Perhaps Leonard Hilton who ran at the Univ. of Houston - I believe he was, at one time, second to Scott in most times sub-4 - but I could be wrong.
No, I think the name you're looking for is Paris Hilton.
His IAAF profile goes to 2004.
2011 3:58.87 i
2010 03:58.2
2009 03:56.8
2008 03:56.2
2007 03:58.0
2006 03:57.5
2005 03:54.9
2004 03:53.8
I see in 2003 he ran 3:58.64 indoors looking at a USATF list.
So there's 9 staright years of actual sub 4's.
if Bernald Lagat did not break 3:35 in 1997, how does that make it 15 years straight of breaking 3:35 ?
oops , NM
he is right 1998-2012 is 15 straight years. http://www.tilastopaja.org/db/atm.php?ID=4911&Odd=33
good luck to rob myers.
Very impressive Rob Myers. This is by no means intended to detract from this impressive performance, but. . .
. . . Kevin Sullivan is awesome. (Full disclosure, I'm a Canadian runner who was in HS in the 1990s, so he was my childhood hero.) Before another proud Canadian point this out:
