Go KD!
KD is the man.
Is he still going to compete?
i'm not sure, but hopefully lol I think hes got a couple more years in him
He's going to love the weather change from Santa Monica.
He was coaching at UNLV, probably not commuting from Santa Monica.

FYI- If you use "LOL" in the middle of the sentence, your opinion is rendered obsolete.

And the change in housing prices.
He might also enjoy working for an athletic department with tons more resources than UNLV and a state with lots of distance running talent just waiting to be kept at the flagship university of the state.

As a UNLV alum...this hurts...but it couldn't be more true.
I'm surprised no Ohio State alumni haven't gotten their panties in a twist for you not calling it THE Ohio State.
I.O.

I am disappointed in the hire. Guyy barely has any experience and hasn't shown an ability to coach anything over 800m. Crogan was Olympian too. Means nothing.
If I'm Coach Hadsell I would send Karen Denis a thank you card.

It is obvious you don't like OSU, but how much more could Gary have recruited the state of Ohio? The entire men's distance team was from Ohio. Hate him for various reasons, but he recruited from Ohio too much in my opinion!

Hey definitely was not hired as the head women's track coach, Karen Dennis is the head coach. He was hired as the women's XC coach and will be coaching women's distance on th track. She coached at UNLV for 10 years. He coached there for his only year of collegiate coaching, that's the connection. The name alone should bring big mid d recruits.

Crogan has done pretty well at Kent State so far. He coached Robert Gary to 3 All-Americas and an Olympic team, served at an assistant for 5 years before taking over at Kent. At Kent he's captured a MAC title, beating two top 10 teams in the process, had great success with Tony Jordanek who has been a 2x USA Champs qualifier, took Lizbarra to the NCAA XC Champs. He also took a DMR to NCAA Indoor Champs. Competing against OSU for recruits I'd day he's had some decent success so far.

Doubtful many 17-18 yr old white, skinny h.s. girls even know, or care, who KD is.
Not quite sure how you decided from this post that I don't like OSU. The truth is quite the opposite. Anyone who knows anything about the sport on the women's side would acknowledge that Ohio is one of the most talent rich states in women's distance running. No state keeps all of their natives in state, but nearly everyone in Ohio would agree that Ohio State has always done way less than a good job of keeping the best talent in state. For those who rap on Robert Gary for focusing his men's recruiting primarily in Ohio (something I would heartily disagree with FWIW), that premise holds even less water on the women's side. Think of how good recent CC/Distance squads would look with even most of this talent pool: (none of which stayed in Ohio for college)
