See, there's the difference. I don't feel the need to prove anything. I am secure in who I am and what I do to stay fit. I'm 44 years old, run 50 miles a week, 3-4 times a week do pushups, pull ups, planks... etc., play old-timers basketball once a week. Without giving a rats ass about proving anything, I can do 52 push-ups in a minute, 10 chin ups, run a 2:51 marathon, AND coach my children's teams (which is by FAR my priority). I will NEVER participate in your poser-look-at-me-water-cooler-king-of-the-office "tough mudder" exactly because I have nothing to prove. I just love running and being fit.
I feel sorry for you that you so desparatly feel you have to impress other people.
Do what you love because you love it, not to impress other people.
