Galen Rupp's ceiling is 3:34 for 1500m. As I have stated before and NOT been proven incorrect, Galen's ceiling on the track is as follows: 1500m 3:34, 3000m 7:32, 5000m 12:55, 10,000m 26:48. Galen will NEVER run faster than the above times. Galen did manage to medal, and I asserted that he would not, but who can account for mediocre fields in the Olympics? My genius failed me, but when it comes to ceilings, I am not wrong. I am an expert on ceilings, and tomorrow's results will vindicate me once again. |

I wish those times were my ceiling. You say it like it is a bad thing. |

3:33.68, but back in ninth place. |

I am not sure how anyone can say someone can't run 3:33x in a 1500m when they 3:34x when they weren't peaking. I don't expect any great 1500m times from Rupp, but you can't possiby say he is incapable of running less than a season faster than he already has. Btw, I think Rupp has done enough for people to stop doubting him. |

I bet your GF studied a lot of ceilings too when she was away from you. (Oh! drum roll...cymbal crash)

For a typical runner, a 26:48 10,000 would be equivalent to a 12:51 5000, a 7:21.9 3000, and a 3:26.8 1500 (from Jack Daniels). Rupp is probably a bit better on the endurance side, so his shorter times might be slower, but that said, even if 26:48 was his true ceiling in 10000, his 1500 ceiling is certainly not worse than 3:30 flat. He may never focus enough on speed to hit that 3:30, but I sincerely doubt he'll retire with a PR slower than 3:32.5, given that he spends at least another 2 years on the track. |

Then stop spending so much time on this website and get back to work. |

This practically guarantees he goes sub 3:34 |

You've already been proven wrong friend. Galen ran 7:31 for 3k on the way to his indoor two mile American Record. Furthermore, as has been posted already is there anything wrong with those PRs? A 12:58/26:48 olympic silver medalist would have been some strange fantasy that would have gotten you laughed at four years ago. Now all of a sudden, those credentials aren't good enough? |

Agreed... K. Bekele disgraced the hallowed Olympic track with his presence. Some People Might Be Laughing Now... Prediction Fail |

Quite a feat, considering he was at 7:40.86 at 3018.6 meters. http://www.letsrun.com/2012/usatf-classic-recap-0211.php "Rupp blitzed the final lap in 28.86 to cross the line in 8:09.72." |

The above is absurd, in case you were interested in being informed regarding the truth, instead of being fed with nonsense. Please educate yourself. |

Another moron chimes in. There is nothing like complete b.s. to bolster one's points. Educate yourself before you try posting more inanity. |

No, Rupp's ceiling is very impressive. Of course, that is not even arguable. |
