answer: Ritz cannot break 56 for 400m
27 flat pace is much easier for a sub50s 400m guy than a 56s 400m guy.
Nice try troll, but I wonder how many people sincerely think that Ritz can't break 51 or 52 seconds.

Because Ritz is injury prone while Rupp and Farah are not.
Any Olympic men's 10000m race that is won in 27:30 is an embarrassment, regardless of who is running.
Simple. Rupp and Farah are on the same new "superdrug" that Wiggins and Froome are on. Dathan is too proud to to go to there in order to keep up with the Africans. Mark my words, it will come out sooner or later

When has he ever run that fast? What possible indicator do you have that Ritz can run 51 or 52? I don't know that I've ever seen him outkick anyone. He doesn't even have a sub-4 equivalent 1500m (granted he hasn't really focused on it, but still). Mo's last mile was at Ritz's PR pace, and people are surprised he didn't make more noise?
Rupps basic speed was about where Dathans was until the last 12 months. All of a sudden he had developed a boat load of basic speed along with consistent 120 plus mile weeks? Dont try and tell me that his 51 last lap at the trials against Lagat was all strength. You still have to be able to run 51 and he never showed he had that kind of speed when he was a jr or even at OR. I can see a 54 or even 53 high. 51...wake up people.
Ritz sprints like and elephant

LOL what 49 400 guys were in the race?

when someone says they are doing the same workouts as someone else, it does not explain how much effort they are putting out relative to the other guys.
Oh, so tried to keep up without workouts that were beyond him?
Interval pace perfect for Rupp/Farah but too much for Ritz?
Good coaching!
What year did Ritz run under 13:00? 2010?
Ritz tanked hard because it's not 2010. His career trajectory would not suggest that he was going to medal or do great in London.
Can he regain his peak? Maybe. It don't come easy.
He was coming off of surgery and missed a ton of time. Considering he made the team was great! You really have not been around this sport too long have you??
It's not just about strength. If your strength will get you to the last 800m in good shape, you still need to be able to sprint at that point. Rupp has learned that, Ritz has not.
Ritz ran 12:56 for 5k. Injury or not, limited training or not getting absolutely trounced in the latter stages should be eye opening for most but there will be people with their eyes glazed over who will think everyone is clean.
Dathan has obviously chosen the high rode.
He will be able to hold his head high, but will never have an Olympic Medal because of his decisions.

The guy should NOT be leaving 2012 with seasonal bests of 13:14/27:36. Track season a total wash. WHY? Can he really have just stagnated in the marathon while losing so much track speed?
Farah is leaving 2012 with a seasonal best of 27:30 and and two Olympic golds.

Are you sure Rupp closed in 51 at the 5k trials? Because I could have SWORE it was a 52 mid.
