I'm looking for my next pair.
I'm looking for my next pair.
The lunar montreals aren't bad. I'm doing quite a bit of my mileage in them now.
the nike zoom streak xc 2, 3, LT (all the same) is the best nike flat in the world.

I do most of my running in the Lunaracer.
Is the Streak LT essentially the same as the XC 3?

Seconded.

Me too. For the past several years workouts, hills and long runs in this shoe. Base and filler miles I do Lunaracers.
For me the Montreal is way too tight to get on (and I have a small foot). My local store has yet to recieve the Flyknit Racer shipment...not sure if I'll spend an extra $100 to try it.
Just a clarification... multiple posters are using the Streak XC as a daily trainer? If so, how does it hold up on trails (rough terrain)? I've been interested in the shoe, but haven't attempted to use a racing flat as a trainer.
I ran 120 miles per week in the streak xc 2. It holds up well.
The streak xc 2 was perfect. I got very annoyed when nike changed the tongue and made it incredibly padded in the xc 3 and now the LT.
LOVE the Lunarspeed Lite. On my 2nd pair,

It is a XC shoe so it does well on trails. At 1/2 the cost of other running shoes fewer miles during its lifespan is not a problem. I get a new pair to race a marathon and keep it in rotation.
I don't think everyone can use this every day. I'm 5'6", 130# with no biomechanical problems and have been running in flats for 20 years.
I agree about the tounge upgrade (like the Lunaracer tounge) but it does stay in place better when putting the shoe on.
Racing flats? I've worn Lunar Racers on hard days and they're great. I go with Lunar Glides or Swifts on recovery days- sometimes Swifts on the hard days, too.

Much better than other flats. I don't have to worry about getting stone bruises in the Streak XC 3, and they're pretty responsive until the upper tears.

Yup, the upper is always the thing to go; mine always rip through where my pinky toe touches the fabric. At that point the sole cushioning is pretty worn out anyways so I replace them. I get 400-500 road miles out of a pair and I've gone through more than I can count.
LunarGlide 2, LunarFly 3 and Zoom Elite 5. I like them all a lot.

Flats...
Been running in this shoe (streak XC 2) every day for the past several years. As others have said, it holds up well on trails. I run trails probably 5 days per week and have taken this shoe up to 140mpw with no issues. I routinely get over 500 miles per pair.
However I hate the XC 3 and LT due to the tongue. Nike totally f-ed things up with that padded tongue. It's heavier, less comfortable, and includes a seam that tears the hell out of the top of my foot. Plus the newer color schemes blow.
I have bought every single pair of remaining XC 2s in size 11.5 that I could find. I'm down to 4 pairs and will shed a tear when the last one is dead.
Has anyone tried the LunarSpider? How does it hold up compared to the Streak?

There are training flats and racing flats. "Flat" is a general term that encompasses both, as opposed to spikes.
