so it begins....
xo begins the era of GREMNA HERNANDAEZ at schmacahcher with tenkaychamp and even jagerbomb. with his newfound hurlding skills and hard-earned college degree, how ong will it be before GREMNA HERNANADEAZ is solving a rubic's cube while breaking the 3:40 1500 barrier? not very ong, i'd say.
The next Manzano? God, FINALLY he gets out of the crummy college system!
Can't wait to see him run the 3000m. I think a few good 3000m races would be good to transition from 1500m for good. He's a great miler, but his true potential will always lay with the longer distances.
Sorry, but it's not the college system in general, but rather the specific college program that German so foolishly went with. Schumacher will get him on the right track and he still has time for a good future with running.
Al-Jazeera ? North Korean People's Daily ? Scientology News ? Storm Front ? Izvestia ? El Haaretz ? Mormon News Room ? Muhammed Speaks ?
Any predictions for his first pro 1500 and 3000? I'm gonna throw out 3:35 and 7:40.
3:34 and 7:45...
lets not get carried away here....

if German can run 3:34 for 1500 I think he would be in sub 7:40 shape
did he get his college degree?
I was so excited about German's potential 3 years ago. I hope he can get it going again. Does anyone know if he has completely dealt with the issues he had with being lethargic all of the time?

I predict that he has a major injury within 6 months. If he is patient and stays then he will run great.
Why are you guys making predictions about his 1500 time? He's a 5000 guy. Even Lomong moved up to the 5000. He is training with a team of 5000 and 10000 guys. The predictions should be for the 5000.
If he stays healthy, he'll be a 3:35/13:10-15 guy next year. It usually takes a year to get used to Jerry's training (see Bumbi).
In 2014, if he can have uninterrupted training and a strong mental approach, he could be sub 3:34 sun 13:00.
In 2016, Bumbi, Lomong and Fernandez will be a solid 5000 crew, hopefully all with sub 13:00 credentials.
Then Rupp, Solinsky and Derrick will make a very strong 10000 team.. likely with all sub 27:00 credentials.
That seems like the future.
German is the best young recruit, YET, for Schumacher.
He has no problems grinding the pace out front. Unlike Teg.
He has faster speed than Solinsky.
He is more naturally talented than Jager.
He is just flat out better runner, in all phases, than Bumbi.
He is no stranger to breaking records. HS records. WORLD jr record, American Jr record.
I see a trait in him that I saw in Geb and Bekele. That is to say he has a talent for running out front and hitting the splits regardless if there is anyone near him. A solo record attempt is probably one of the hardest things a runner can do. It's painful. It's mentally tiring. And German has done it on several occasions at the junior level.
Therefore it's not hyperbole to suggest 12:40 flat can be his for the taking with a few years of consistent training. It can happen. Believe in him.

Nothing a healthy dose of thyroid meds won't clear up...
This is pretty old news. The article is dated July 30th. There was also already a thread on this 2 weeks back when the article was posted on Runner's World.
Awesome I can't wait to here about his crazy training on twitter and see him run one race every 8 months.

I came here to post this.
A little late to the presses aren't we? This WAS news 2 weeks ago. Way to keep German relevant.
