Many would say... No, this is not "interesting." It's thoroughly predictable. But in a larger sense... Regarding the comment quoted above about modern science needing to be able to catch cheats before they steal medals, this should be the next big conversation we have about PEDs in our sport. If we require Olympians to qualify through their country's trials process, and if we require them to meet an A (or in some cases a B) standard before they are allowed to compete in the Olympic Games, then the goal should be to also substantially increase and tighten up the testing process after the teams are selected and BEFORE the Games even begin. Athletes should not only be qualified to become Olympians, they should also be clean. Obviously no system will ever be perfect, but anything we can do to catch as many cheats as possible before they ever set foot inside the Olympic Stadium would be a huge step in the right direction. This would be much more fair to, and considerate of, the clean athletes because they would be competing against fewer cheats at the time of competition. It would also help the external image of our sport if cheats can be flushed out before they win medals, rather than days or weeks later, after the fact. |

WTF at both of you, the first translation was perfectly sufficient. Knowing this site, Rojo has probably worked out some deal to get paid .35 cents by Microsoft every time Bing links are posted, or something. |

so is Makhloufi in or out of these meets? What is he running, if anything? |

Probably because he dominated the semi-final and final of a world championship 1500m in a way that has not been seen since Rashid Ramzi. We all know how clean he turned out to be... |
