2000s race in Sydney was FAR superior to this pile of sh*t.
2000s race in Sydney was FAR superior to this pile of sh*t.
All the runners should be lined up and summarily executed
Last lap was quite entertaining.
Everyone in it.

Everyone started in it but the gaps ended up huge. Boring as sh*t.

Then go watch the 400, retard.
I agree 100%. This whole bit of "racing" crap is why I don't respect them as they haven't earned it.
You don't seen any sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, or anything 800m and under trying to do LESS than their optimum.
ABSOLUTE CRAP!!! THERE SHOULD BE NO MEDALS PERIOD FOR THE 5K!
And the 10000m was so great? Both were horrible. Tired of this jogs with sprints in the final laps. Whatever happened to good old endurance? Battle to see who could hang with big boys? I miss John Ngugi and Yobes Ondieki.
It was a race full of losers.
The least worst loser finished first.
I thought it was pretty exciting.

The 10,000 sucked too. But I had no idea the 5000 would be EVEN WORSE...
I was hoping Kipsiro would do a Ngugi. Kipsiro has two world top 3's in cross country and doesn't need pacers. But he just bent over and took it from Farah like everyone else.
Doesn't that make your life even more pathetic????
A$$hats like u who criticize criticism are even another step down
Totally agree. Hate these "tactical" races. It's BS that no one wants to take the lead. The real reason is that no one wants to hurt. They want to keep the pain short and sweet, and so wait to the last couple laps to sprint.

maybe you should show them how it's done
some Asians would of helped, they arent afraid to lead fast
Look at the results.
The 5000 world champ won.
This year's fastest was second.
Third went to someone that just ran 12:49
Fourth was last year's silver medalist.
Fifth ran 12:48 this year.
The 1500m medalist couldn't crack the top 5 even with that slow pace.
Regardless of the early pace, the guys who were best at 5000m came out on top.
The gap over the last lap showed their superiority as it would have with a fast pace and a gap going into the last lap.
Things were up in the air with one lap to go.
Could Mo hold that lead with a dozen guys breathing own his neck?
Could Lagat find the right holes?
Would Gebremeskel show that he is the new deal.
What do the two Kenyans have at this point?
Will Rupp finish like he did at the Trials?
Is the Morocan 1500m medalist going to blast them?
This is what was going through my mind with one lap to go, anyway.
Pretty wild and exciting.
The first one to go loses that is why you get these races. It is only when you have a runner who is far and away the best in the field do you get races like the 800m

WIth a lap to go I was hoping for something spectacular to happen on that last lap. Nothing did. Races aren't made on hype and "what ifs". They are made on what actually happens and this one SUCKED.
If you were a Farah or Gebremeskial fan, you would have found that last lap pretty exciting. It sucked to many who were pulling for Rupp and Lagat.
I enjoyed the race. If you don't like these sorts of races then you don't like elite distance running. Calling the best athletes pussies for not running in a way that would damage their chances of winning is ridiculous. If you want to watch a race were people go all out all time I suggest you watch NASCAR. If you like tactics and nuance, watch running.
