Huge Leo fan and followed him since his days at Marble Falls HS but this is really making me lose respect for him. Yes, born in Mexico and came to THE country that gave him every opportunity now he brings the Mexican flag along with the US flag. Not cool, Leo. |

My feed is gone, so I'd have to see it, but that does seem wrong. I guess he does have dual citizenship, but he did run for the United States of America. Still, congrats to Manzano on a great run. Maybe I'll be a little critical of him later, but for now the man deserves his glory. Great run. |

America is a free country. Leonel can do as he pleases. If you don't like it you can move to a zionist dictatorship with millions of political prisoners locked up in Warsaw ghettos. Places like North Korea, Russia, China, Texas, Iran, Syria, Israel, Cuba, etc. See how you like it there you dumboh. |

I have a somewhat different question: since when have the non-gold medal medalists paraded around with their country's flag after their event? I honestly don't remember; was this common in Beijing in 2008? I seem to recall that, in past years, an event winner might have wrapped him- or herself in his or her flag, but not the silver and/or bronze medalists. Am I misremembering? |

Man, I'm glad Letsrun wasn't around for the 1968 200 meter medal ceremony. Go Leo, go. |

I think it's good. He was raised in Mexico, his family is from Mexico, and Mexico has nothing else to cheer for on the track right now. If anything carrying both flags makes the US look better and less xenophobic. |

I was wondering the same thing. Isn't the victory lap supposed to be for the winner? Or is everyone a winner, like marathons? |

Leo is awesome. We are a nation of immigrants. It is only Billy Mills and Jim Thorpe that don't have other flags to carry. Leo did the right thing. Those that don't respect him for it, don't understand what America is. |

Unless someone else can confirm this with photo/video evidence I think this may just be trolling. FYI |

Perfect timing for him to show the country of his birth some love and also support many fellow Mexican-Americans who at the moment are getting a whole lot of crap in this country. Most would have thought it a nice gesture if Sanchez had also toted around a US flag in his victory lap but he didn't and that is his prerogative just like it was Leo's to do what he did. |
