If I am looking for a high mileage trainer which is the better shoe?
i'd go with pure flow. i don't run high mileage and the kinvara fell apart on me before too long.
Have you looked at the New Balance MR 10? Or do you want something with a thinker sole?
I liked the 2 pair of Pure Flows that I ran in but I could only get 250 miles out of them. That is making me think twice about buying them in the future.
I have never tried the Kinvara.
I have both the Brooks Pure Flow and the Saucony Kinvara 3. The Kinvara 3 is a better all around shoe. Very comfortable too. The K3 have become my everyday trainer. The K3 has better cushioning in the sole allowing me to use them on long runs. The K3 has some spring in the sole too which is cool. The Pure Flow on the other hand, feel lifeless next to the Kinvara 3. I use the Pure Flow for my recovery runs only.
Tried both (at least the Kinvara 2, not the 3) and liked the kinvara enough to go through 2 pairs before I wanted to try something different....The Pure Flow just felt too soft and kind of felt wierd walking in due to the oddly shaped heal and dumped 'em after 3 weeks...I've truly liked the New Balance 730..It's a Minimus in everything but name and costs half as much ($50) as the others...Far better shoe then the 1st Minimus Road...If you do some searching, you can probably find it cheaper
I'm the total opposite. I gave the Kinvara 2 a chance and initially loved the fit. But something about them gave me a stone bruise and runners knee so I dumped them. The MR 10 has been a great flat for me. I can use it for speed and long runs. Much Better for me than the MR1400 or zoom xc 2.
