I would bet on farah or rupp's kick over bekele at 26:40 pace.
I would bet that there will be no white boy around on last lap if pace is that fast.
link?
Old man Bekele can't run that fast anymore
Haile mentions he maybe around to 2016 Olympics; however, he never mentioned 26:40. He only said, "Bekele prefers a fast race."

‘Painful’ not to be running, says Gebrselassie
Posted by AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE on July 29, 2012
LONDON, England, July 29 – Ethiopian running legend Haile Gebrselassie admitted Sunday that it was “painful” not to be competing at the London Olympics, but held out hope he could make the Rio Games in four years’ time.
Gebrselassie, a two-time Olympic and four-time world 10,000m champion, failed to progress from an Ethiopian qualifying trial in Hengelo in May and was omitted from his country’s team.
To add to his woes, the 39-year-old had already also failed to post a qualifying time for the marathon in what would have been his fifth Olympics.
“It’s very painful not to be running here after all I have achieved,” Gebrselassie said.
“The only thing I don’t like here in London is that I’m not running here. I’m sorry for that.”
He added: “Hopefully I’ll be running for the next four years and you’ll see me in Brazil. Why not?!”
Gebrselassie backed compatriot and former teammate Kenenisa Bekele to win the 10,000m from a clutch of Kenyan rivals and British hope Mo Farah.
****"I say Bekele for the 10K,” he said, warning that Bekele would prefer a fast pace.****
“The 10,000m depends on the pace. If the pace is slow, you could say Mo Farah.”

Bekele has run 3:32. Why would you bet against his kick EVER?

Yet, Bekele ran 26:40 last year at the end of the season. So, now he's too old to run that?

sub13 with a substantial upward trend
In Bekele's 26:43 WL time coming off limited training last year, he still managed to close in 55 still while Rupp closed in 60. I'd still bet on Bekele.

If you would bet on Rupp's kick at that pace you don't really understand the sport.
Sorry.
I have seen Farah and Rupp finish races the last two years. They have both been able to run very fast last laps.
Bekele has been out kicked this year at least once pretty handily. Bekele's best days may be 7-8 years in the past. He is not the 26:20 guy. He is a 26:43 guy. He will not be able to get away. And when the bell rings for the last lap, there are two guys ready to run a 52 second final lap with him being in the crosshairs.
I just dont see Bekele winning this race. Besides Rupp and Farah, he has to deal with the Kenyans along with two fellow countrymen. Just too much against him this time.

Rupp is not running a 52 second last lap on a decent pace.

Prob be about 55 b/c farah and rupp will start from 700-800m out. Bekele may be out the back before the kicking starts for real. I think there will be others to cause a problem besides Bekele.
What finishing time to you see this happening in? What was Rupp's last lap time when he ran 26:4X?
Hey broseph Bekele ran 26:17 so don't call him a 26:20 guy...thank you.
Farah has not raced a 10K this year. Maybe not since Daegu last year. Why not?
I just wish the damn race was run already so people can stop repeating the same things.
"Rupp can close in 52"
"No he can't."
ad infinitum.
I wish I could find that recent thread where someone looked at finish times and last lap times of recent championships and Olympics. If I could, it'd show that we need to stop with the "so and so is gonna close in 52," especially off a pace that fast.
