Tard-mo' should be sent packing.

If there was ever a legitimate case of diminished capacity, she is it.

Tarmoh, just shut up already. We don't want to hear it. You had the option of racing for it and stupidly chose not to.

sprintgeezer what is your ax to grind with jeneba tarmoh?

1. no she is not as accomplished as felix
2. no the media has not decided to make her the media darling as they have felix (and felix deserves to be trhe media darling based on accomplishment)
3. bottom line tarmoh was 3rd and felix 4th in a race where top 3 go to the olympics, regardless of what mr. magoo aka judge jennings claims he saw.

on an unrelated note was jennings one of the boxing judges in the olympics when the korean got the decision against roy jones jr.?

"Bottom line" is that Tard-mo' is, right now, a complete POS.

Serious question - why would you say something as stupid as that? Seriously. We've all seen the pics. There is no reasonable way that someone could say that one or the other of the two was clearly ahead at the tape.

Seriously, why would you say something so stupid?

How is it that a person can alternate between rational, clear-headed analysis, and inane playground taunts with such ease? I mean, "Tard-mo", really? You're a grown man calling a woman you don't know Tard-mo. C'mon, guy.

I've always wondered that myself. Sometimes he is the lone person who knows what's going on in sprinting and the next post you see is him with immature name calling.

Well, M@Imo knows a heck of a lot about distance running and he is famous for immature and disrespectful blasts on here.

If you're referring to malmo, I've never really seen him do that on here. I have seen him constantly misquoted though.

Actually the photo finish could only show one angle (the left), Tarmoh's body was almost certainly ahead of Felix's from a right angle camera shot, however that could only be inferred versus having an actual, concrete photo. Jenning's protested his call because of that.

I thought these were interesting bits from the interview:

"It would have been so different if they had called it a dead heat from the start,'' said Tarmoh. "When I crossed the line and saw my name on the board, it was like a dream come true. It was like a woman on her wedding day. It was like a mother who struggles to give birth and it's the happiest day of her life and all of sudden somebody says, 'Sorry, that baby isn't yours.' It hurts. It hurts so much. And people want me to just accept that, just say, 'Oh, it's OK?'''

This is the way Tarmoh recalls that meeting:

"They were saying, 'There's a lot of money invested in this runoff, it's the next big thing for track and field.'''
Tarmoh recalls being intimidated by the prevailing feeling in the room and by the personalities around her. When Tarmoh left Texas A&M in 2011 with a year of eligibility, Holland had negotiated a contract with Nike, and Holland and Nike together had arranged for her to be coached by Kersee, after an original attempt to work with John Smith fell through.
"I didn't want to step on any toes,'' Tarmoh says. "I didn't want Nike to be mad. I didn't want USATF to be mad. I didn't want Allyson to be upset at me. I never wanted to run, but there I was in that room and at some point I just decided, you know what, I'll just go and do it. You guys have a lot of money invested. They were saying they had a TV schedule in the middle of the swimming trials. So I'll just go and run.''

"Nobody has said to me, 'Hey are you OK?''' said Tarmoh. "It was just back to business.'' Nobody from USATF? "No.'' Felix? "No.'' (Tarmoh reconsidered after a moment and said, "Actually Bobby gave me a hug the day after the meeting and asked me if I was OK.'')

I was neutral on this. Now I see Tarmoh and someone I would not support as an athlete. You win or you lose and that is it. She refused to play by the rules and now has second thoughts.

My guess is she knew Felix would blow her away in round 2.
Tarmoh is not an athlete I will support at the Olympics if is she manages to take someone's 100m spot, or in any way as part of the 4x100.

I hope Tarmoh is not selected to run the final of the 4x100. Expect the complaining about being robbed to be tremendous if that happens to her.

Before I was disappointed that she chose to give up and not compete for that position in the runoff. Now she simply has the image of a little kid acting like a brat.

I understand she experienced a huge disappointment, but nothing is final until the appeals period expires. Any adult involved with track and field at the level she has been must know that.

I agree that it would have been best to not display the result if the official was going to protest his own call, but it doesn't affect the outcome.

I am not a fan.

No sympathy whatsoever for this shebeast.

She knew what she had to do to make the team and CHOSE not to participate. What a whiny brat.

I'm a grown man who doesn't need any words to describe a woman I don't know. She did this all by herself. Start at 0:40 when Allyson got the baton:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vlf2b8cP-AM

And what she said in SI is that John Smith apparently didn't want her (can't image why with what we know now), so Nike stuck Bobby Kersee with her. Pretty much speaks for itself.

I really feel sorry for whatever guy is dumb enough to marry her.

Are you serious? You could only see the left angle shot which shows a dead heat. There is no right angle shot so you simply speculate that it would have shown Tarmoh ahead?!? Ummm... biased much?

Holy mackerel!

You may or may not have seen this SI quote:

"Jennings said, "In the end, my read was subjective. The involvement of the torso is always subjective to some degree. They (USATF) went with what they could actually see. I was overruled, and I certainly signed off on their decision. But I did my job. I called what I saw. I try to stay consistent. If I went back and read that photo 100 times, I would call it the same way every time." (That is, he would call Tarmoh the winner, based on an interpolation of where her torso was at the finish)."

The clock is not bias. You can study that picture a million times and not see which athlete crossed the line first. Everyone knows the board is not the final results.
