That was an excellent bit of perspective, very valid points about a very sad history in the region. Do you really think the region would look different if there had been that resettlement of populations? Maybe you are right, but that overlooks the fact that the Palestinians would still be deprived of a historical homeland, and the Jewish refugees were settled in a country with the financial means and international support and agenda to support them. And it is the direction of the Israeli government since then that has really left the bitterest taste in my mouth

If you want some perspective on the middle east, take a look at two simple examples off the top of my head: Black September or what's happening in Syria. Jordan killed more Palestinians in one month in 1970 (est. 10k-20k) than have died in 60 YEARS of conflict with Israel (7,978). Nearly twice that number of civilians have died in Syria since 2011 (est. 19,000-26,700). Additionally, the displacement you speak of happened on both sides, with ~800k-1million Jews being displaced from Arab countries, and 711k-712k Palestinians being displaced. Israel absorbed the Jewish refugees who lost all their land and valuables and now they're fine. Why couldn't the 18 Arab nations do the same for their brethren?
Get a grip and look in the mirror. Israel is not even close to being the main cause of violence in the region.

Sovereignty and security must be restored to Palestine before hostilities in the region can be squelched, repatriation of 10,000,000 Palestinian hostages and political prisoners can commence, and a new unified Christian/Muslim/Jewish/Druze government formed respecting civil rights and suffrage. Since the 1940s the U.S. has disrupted the entire region and placed it in perpetual turmoil. Urge your representatives to halt the genocide in Palestine and to recognize the independent and democratic wishes of the legacy people of the region.
It's one of those tragic events in history that had to take place as it was fate. If the Palestinians had not attacked the Israeli Olympic civilians in retaliation for decades of Israeli atrocities, then Gaza and West Bank would not be Muslim and Christian to day in the year 2012. The entire area of historic Palestine would be occupied by the United States and it's Nazee settlers. The Palestinian attacks stymied the U.S. policy of Muslim executions in Palestine and forced many decades of negotiations. Many lives were saved, both for Palestinians and occupiers, Unfortunate though, indeed, those kids were expectional athletes, and many soldiers for freedom were sacrificed for God. Let us pray for freedom, democracry, and peace for Palestine.

You left out the one million Iraqis dead due to sanctions imposed by the zi&nists as well as the invasion and occupation of that nation. Your number of 7,978 is absurdly low -- hell, Israel killed more Palestinians than that in the first few days of the ethnic cleansing of 1948. It also leaves out the thousands and thousand of Lebanese killed by israel as well as the Egyptians and Jordanians in 1967. Very selective numbers. I am not sure why you think the fact that Jews from America and Russia have a "right of return" to Palestine yet the Palestinians have no rights at all is a good thing? (Israel "absorbing" jews). Whether ior not Israel is the main cause for violence in the area can be debated, The fact that she is a racist, violent, paranoid state with great power over the US political, finanacial, and justice systems is not debatable. This isn't about whatever Israel was/is doing or what the US was/is doing. this is about how during the Olympics, where nations come together and agree to lay down their arms in the name of competition, some extremist group ruined the spirit of the games by taking hostage athletes who had no involvement in the actions of their country, and killed them. regardless of what led this group to do this, it was the wrong way to go about it, and it undermined the sanctity of an event that was created to promote peace and diplomacy through healthy competition, rather than through acts of violence and war. and anybody who uses the tragic death of these innocent people as an opportunity to blame Israel or Jews for anything, reserves themselves a special place in Hell.
Sadly civilians are collateral damage in war. In peacetime the Israeli athletes and Palestinian Freedom Fighters could have sat together and enjoyed a nice meal with wine but circumstances beyond anyone's control led to hostilities. None of the soldiers nor the athletes were alive when the 1948 Palestine Catastophe occured. The PLO stated that the attack in Munich was justifiable retaliation in response to the United States led siege on Palestine. Forty years later, Gaza and West Bank are still U.S. and Israeli concentration with millions of Palestinian hostages held without due process nor respect for human rights. Had the 1972 retaliation not occured, the United States would have murdered those in Gaza and West Bank. The attack in Munich saved the lives of millions of Palestinians and unfortunately caused the deaths of many young Israelis and Palestinian soldiers. It's up to us to honor the courage and sacrifice of the soldiers and athletes and pray for an end to the 70 year U.S. siege on Palestine. Go with God My Brother.

Nope. This is about pushing the narrative of Jewish victimhood that is constantly being reinforced with movies, newspaper and magazine articles, books, holocaust memorials all over America, required Holocaust education, etc. Your post is a perfect example of focusing on the PLO's evil reaction to greater evils done to them by Israel and condemning anyone who would mention those greater evils

We need to commemorate the heros and victims of the 1972 PLO Attack on the Israeli Olympic Athletes. The surviving combatants, victims, siblings and relatives of the PLO Freedom Fighters, Israeli Athletes, and German Army and Police should be honored at the 2012 London Opening Ceremonies. Lord Coe should be named the Governor General of Palestine with the expressed charter of closing Israel, West Bank, and Gaza, returning the Golan Heights, and instituting full rights to every person in Palestine.
