Full quote. "People loved her. Loved her. Housewives, kids, men. I wonder if Marion prevented us from ever loving an athlete like that again." |

Jill Geer also still thinks that Angelo Taylor is a great guy. She was wearing pigtails and Mary Janes when she said that. |

I once loved Jill Geer and hated Marion J. |

People loved Mary Slaney until LA '84. We get over it. |

Jones was a big phony. You had to watch carefully to see it but by 2001 or so it was pretty obvious to me. |

I was one of those people. I REALLY liked Marion, even though I was a HS distance guy at the time. She just had this cool competitive spirit and was so dominant. My 4 year old nephew even liked watching her race. I saw her compete at the trials in 2000 and she was amazing (as was Regina Jacobs...) and I even bought her book. I like a lot of athletes now, big fan of Ritz, Rupp, Fernandez, and Hasay, but I can probably never REALLY like an athlete again because of how tarnished this sport is and how let down I've felt seeing my favorites test positive for PEDs. |

I was a nine year old girl with a poster of Marion Jones in my bedroom, she was my hero. When I found out she cheated, even though I was in college as a distance runner and had long since taken the poster down, it still made me tear up.
That's how I feel. I love following track and like a lot of the athletes, but am more wary- the trust is gone. Who's to know if they're really on EPO or not? I would not be surprised if any professional athlete admitted to cheating. |

This is why fangirls should't be paid money to hang around the sport. USATF needs some professionalism in the national office. |
