FInal lap of Kenya v Jamaca in the 4x4 at London. Rudisha gets the stick just in front of Bolt. Who wins? |

4x4 give a slight bump to fast 800 guys due to the rolling start and the running without lanes. Rudisha by a whisker. Would be epic.... |

Bolt rolls him up like a cheap cigar! |

Only way Bolt can beat him is if he passes him early. Rudisha more savvy if left to the last 200m |

Considering that Bolt and Rudisha are their countries faster 400m runners without even a moment of focus on the event is strange. Why are we even discussing this, Jamaica and Kenya will barely make the final, which is the only instance of Rudisha vs Bolt you'll see. What I would really like to see is the top 1-4 athletes race the 5-8 athletes in a 400m relay |

On form so far this year, Rudisha. |

Bolt. I think Bolt has huge potential in the 400 and could be the best in the world if he focused on it. Has anyone thought of Blake in the 4x400? Blake looks so good the final meters of the 200 and seems like he could hold it together for a 400 better than most sprinters. |

Sorry folks, but no 800 runner is beating Bolt in a 400. If you thought Michael Johnson was good in the 4 x 400, Bolt would blow your mind off the hinges. |

You are correct. He's already gone 43.x relay leg, letting up last 10 meters. Rudy CAN NOT run a 400 that fast. OP, are you the same guy who has started this thread like 10x?? If not, I simply don't get the fascination that people have over this hypothetical (mis)match-up. |

I'd go with Rudisha since he's in great shape this season |

Johnson ran 43.18 training for the 200/400m. He has a 200m times of 19.32. Bolt has a 200m times of 19.18 training for the 100/200m. If he steps up his basic speed will drop slightly. How is he a lock to break the 400m WR?? |

No one is saying Bolt is a lock to break the WR. Remember though in 2010 Bolt ran a 30.97 300m in the pouring rain and cold weather of Ostrava, which was the second fastest of all time behind Johnson's 30.85 run at altitude. |
