It's horrible, and people are pissed. I'm here in foix at dinner listening to the aftermath. As an aside, it's easy to tell the Americans visiting here. They're the ones in flipflops, sweatpants or cutoffs, and tshirts with supposedly ironic sayings on them, talking about 1000 decibels louder than everyone else around them. They can be heard saying (once again, very loudly), "these people 'round here need to learn some English!" It's little wonder why America gets labeled the way it does with this type of representation.

God threw down those tacks. Rumor is he coaches Sanchez, so the big guy was just trying to help his pupil. Wonder whether God will try this tacktic in London, to help Hall? (Doesn't seem very Christian to me, but who am I to judge.)

This is truly masterful, lead in with a response to the story to get people hooked then BAM say something controversial to get people angry and respond. I applaud this trolling effort. Though I'm not sure about how many cyclist fans are the type of American you described, I've never met them of course, but I can't imagine they're bigots. I mean they seem to be more of the lower class and rude, I'd imagine they are a bit richer and therefore more worldly and better adapted to act correctly in foreign countries, but hey you still got some people to bite so congrats bud!

Yes, thank you. If the poster is upset about Americans acting poorly in France imagine his shock at a local water park or denny's restaurant! Sorry, but no poor white trash or even middle income people I know travel to Europe for vacation. Although rudeness is not the exclusive domain of the poor or middle class of course anyone who has the cash these days to travel to France probably isn't the Jersey shore stereotype.

I'm confused, as far as Im aware Americans are just those fat people who get off coaches and ask if they're in Sweden.

I thought America was a coach park or something...

As a side note, I am kind of suprised that the kind of American following the Tour would fit the stereotype of American (or Brit) abroad.

Glad to see we are more concerned about the shitty nature of people rather than anything pertinent to the topic, Pierre's attack, Sky waiting for Cadel, Philipe and Petr getting their arses paddled by LL, or Froome commenting that he could win. But why would we when we could talk about doping in cycling, why 'Muricans have the biggest dicks, and why Europeans are subsequently lesser of people biased on relative hygiene.

Even with the tacks it is hard to believe that Cadel Evans had as many problems as he did. Paper champion last year, chump this year.
