Great run from the Serbian to get Silver.
Ajee Wilson won gold in the 800m. That was incredible. Cain was pretty good.
Officially 4:11.01. What an incredible run indeed - a lot of it in lane 2 or 3 as well. She really stuck her nose in with much older, more experienced women. She's got a great future ahead of her.

Ajee Wilson has been at the top of the youth/junior ranks for a couple of years internationally. It's exciting to see Cain get close to that. Chill out.
Not taking away from Ajee Wilson's Gold, but you have to appreciate Cain's run as well. 4:10-11 as a high school sophomore is no joke, and she is one of America's brightest future stars. She'll be back in two years at World Juniors and can have her shot at gold.
Ajee in her own right was incredible winning gold.. Cain just destroyed a All time HSR by nearly 4 seconds.. That's simply insane... she has two more years before she even goes to college.. I hope she has a nasty XC season.. She improved leaps and bounds over her freshman year.. I can only imagine.. She is the future of US Women's distance running.

That would require a 4:02 or 4:03 performance... Possible, but that's way faster than any Collegian...
Amazing perfomance, and i think the Serbian girl is still a youth.
What a great meet for all the high school middle distance runners. Wilson, Cain, Hatton, Nerud - just awesome! Props to all for amazing performances. Remember that this is the future of our sport. We should be singing their praises for each individual accomplishment, not comparing them. They are all fabulously talented, beautiful young girls, really still just kids.
Mary Cain runs faster for the year than NCAA Champ Katie Flood, or Jordan Hasay, who is five years older. Simply amazing.
Well she DID just run faster than the NCAA Champ did all year, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. She improved 6.8 seconds over last year, so if she keeps healthy and motivated, it's definitely possible.

That would certainly be great. Let's pull out this thread in 2 years...
The Serbian is 19 years old (the oldest you can be). Nevertheless, great run by her.
Mary Cain recently turned 16.
Faith Kipyegon is certainly a force to be reckoned with, and it should be fun to watch her in London.
That typo does not really take away from her achievement.Do I sense some... not so good feelings here?

Why write 4:10-11 when the actual time is 4:11?
Why not 4:01-4:11? That looks even faster!
I think that is also a Serbian national record on the Senior level. Congrats to her. Fast times across the board. Nice time by Judd as well
Jessica Judd beat Mary Cain after medalling in the 800m too, she's also young enough to compete at the next World Junior championships.
Jessica Judd did amazingly well setting a sub 4:10 PB after getting a silver medal in 800m and still eligible at the next World Junior Champs.
Since she ran a 4:11.01 - isn't that close enough to 4:10.99 to call it a 4:10? I mean we are only talking 2/100s of a second! Sheeeeshh!
And watching her cross the finish line, it certainly looked like 4:10 (hence the title of this thread). I'm sure the poster hadn't read the official result and just posted on how close it was between 4:10-11. No reason to degrade him.
