Hi. I will be a senior this fall and I want to contact some coaches. I have not bothered to email any coaches yet because I know they would not be interested in my 4:40 10:05 times. I have been training my a** off this summer as I am way better at xc than track. I am interested in Cal state Chico, Sacramento State, University of San Diego, Santa Clara. Do college coaches get upset If you wait till senior year to make contact. I don't really care about scholarships, I just want a spot on the team....although it would be nice if running could help get me in to a few schools. |

It's never too late to learn the distinction between to and too, brah. But to answer your question, no man, not at all. Contact away! |

Colleges are recruiting people throughout the year. Depending on what you are looking for in a school you may even be able to get some scholarship money, not at a D-1 school, but at smaller schools. I'm on the East Coast so I don't know about the schools you are looking at, but contact the coach at schools you are interested in tell them you times and as you run races this fall in XC keep those coaches updated, especially if those XC tomes show a big improvement from last year. |

Coaches can't talk to you until your senior year. I have sent kids to D1 schools every year I have coached. Even the FL kids don't talk to coaches until the fall and even still don't make up their mind until mid spring. So no, it's not too late. Get your times down. Make FL and plenty of coaches will be talking to you. |

My life advice would be to leave California. Place is messed up. |
