I guess they have really good runners but not that great runner. They have 2 runners that will lead and the rest 30-40 seconds back more of a "pack" running group 7-8 guys.

Anywho- on a more important note- has anyone else noticed that there's an abnormal amount of Susan's throughout the region this year? Didn't know it was such an widespread name for female cross country athletes...
So who all's going to be at Rochester's Invite tomorrow? It sounds like a huge meet!
Union at Oneonta tomorrow. Should be a nice battle with the hosts and DeSales.
Any updates from UR Inv?
Nothing? Should've been over for about an hour...
Thank me later
THANKS.
I checked the Leone site ten times without success.
Cornell must be so proud to clean up at a d3 regional-level meet. What were they even doing there?
D3 Individual Top 10 from UR (top 2 not in our region):
1. Kenneth Janosko (Baldwin Wallace) 25:33
2. Andrew Fine (Dickinson) 25:44
3. Alex Brimstein (Geneseo) 25:50
4. Nathan Bickell (Ithaca) 25:54
5. Sam Rakoc (St. Lawrence) 25:54
6. Dan Hamilton (Rochester) 25:55
7. Cody Amengual (Cortland) 25:56
8. Tom Hopkins (Cortland) 25:57
9. Mark Rollfs (Rochester) 25:58
10. Nick Marcantonio (Cortland) 25:58
Times seem sorta slow to anyone?
Wow. I knew the Cornell men were improved, but that was a pretty loaded DIII field--I did not expect CU to have the first eight collegiate finishers, with six of them evidently just running as a pack.
Anyway, Geneseo's men did their job in finishing second, but not much ahead of UR and Dickinson. Either those two are really legit and should move up in national polls, and/or Geneseo will have somewhat of a drop from its #4 ranking. Either way, looks like Cortland will take a hit (they were #9 going into the meet) in national rankings, though they handled SLU and TCNJ well. And it looks like I'm gonna have to revise my opinion of Buff State a bit.
On the women's side, no surprise that Cornell won, but their finish times don't indicate much pack running. Well, they've got a huge (and loaded) team--biggest in D1, allegedly, with 50+ on the roster--so races like this probably give them a chance to establish their pecking order for the travel squads to upcoming big meets.
For the DIII women, Geneseo's finish is a huge surprise--I'm trying to remember the last time that UR beat them. Was that their "A" team? Excellent run by SLU, and Dickinson did well--the fact that Rochester finished just behind them might mean national ranking for the 'Jackets, which would have to be for the first time in a long time.
Looks like everyone who gave me crap for talking up U of R last weekend was an idiot, doesn't it? Only 10 points behind Geneseo. Beating Cortland. Told you so.
Looked like both Cortland and Geneseo were not all out for this, expect regional times to be much faster as long as the weather is good.

Yeah I'm sure cortland had a 27 second gap between their 3rd and 4th on purpose, you know because they were running a tempo or something. Moron.
Look at Cortland's top three and Geneseo's pack in the results, they were clearly running together and not split up. That is all. No need to get angry. I'm just making an observation.
An observation, just not an accurate one. Rochester's top three are actually closer than Cortland's...guess that means UR wasn't all out...
Looks to me like Rochester should move way up in the rankings.

Well, they had attended last year, though not with all their top people. (Their men took ~3d, IIRC.)
CU's men (especially) and women are just improved this year. I don't think they wanted a three-week gap between their opener (last week) and Paul Short, so this was the weekend for a local race and I guess UR's meet was their best bet. I would imagine they were expecting a little more competition today--I was--with lots of top D3 teams and individuals in attendance...
For the AR teams that will be going to Nationals, this situation could be a blessing in disguise--a chance to practice judging your effort (individually and as a team) while having a bunch of guys in front of you.
What were the conditions like? Was there any water on the course?
It's a comparison to Cortland's top three spread from Hamilton. Your probably right but I'll wait until Regionals.
Any Results from RPI or Oneonta?
Looking at the intermediate splits at 4k the Geneseo guys went through in the 13:30s while the other runners around them were through in 12 high to 13 low. Looks like a tempo through at least the half. Makes sense, they did the same thing in 2010.
