It's true. This summer we had a week long flick of hot, steamy passion. It was the best week of my life, but he told me he couldn't be tied down during the season.

track 71
Paul Short AR results. Brief notes: a quick comparison slots St. Lawrence in between Cortland and TCNJ in the Brown race. Also of note, Ithaca's Geary (no 1 for them at Owsego, no 2 at pre-regionals) didn't race. If he finishes halfway between their no. 1 (Bickell) and no. 3 (Hitchcock), they drop ~106 points and finish 8th, ahead of TCNJ. The point being that with the addition of this freshman, Hitchcock, who seems to be quickly improving, they could actually be a threatening team. However, they have only 5 runners and it's unlikely that's enough depth to count for anything. (Also their 4-5 are a little weak.)

RPI and Fredonia both MASSIVELY overrated, based on those results.
Better ranking?
1. Geneseo
2. Cortland
3. Rochester
4. NYU (until we see a matchup, who knows)
5. St. Lawrence
6-8. TCNJ, Ithaca, Buff State (all very close)
9. RPI
10. Vassar

After those results... looks like the atlantic region is going to take a big hit. I am predicting 4 teams no more... maybe even three

They'll get four. Two of the top 3 didn't even run this meet. Geneseo's highly ranked, and Rochester beat Cortland last time out. NYU also didn't race, and you have to think they'll take top 4. I don't think these results hurt anything, really. Four teams was always a possibility. What did you expect?
So I would like to throw Rakoc as a top 5 in the region....like i said a few months ago.
Who are the likely individual qualifiers?
If we assume 4 teams, that's Suny-G, Cortland, Rochester, and NYU.
So, individually:
Rakoc, St. Lawrence
Patterson, St. Lawrence
Bickell, Ithaca (although he seems very inconsistent)
Who else?
On what basis does Cortland keep showing up ahead of Rochester on this board(besides that you're obviously on Cortland's team or an alum)? In a comparison of times for teams that ran at Pre-Regional and Lehigh, the courses actually look pretty similar (most runners who ran in both meets had differences of less than 10 seconds or so, on average). In their only actual head-to-head matchup, Rochester beat Cortland, yet somehow Cortland running a 6K against nobody last week moves them past UR in the official LR message board rankings? The real top 5 probably looks more like this at the moment:
1. Geneseo
2. NYU (they aren't getting enough credit for a decent showing at Williams last weekend against some good teams)
3. Rochester
4. Cortland
5. SLU
SLU actually looks pretty talented up front, but their scoring falls apart by #5 (27:15?). Other than this top 5, I don't see anyone else even remotely contending for an NCAA berth in November (sorry to all the Coach Lynch fanboys out there).

Well Lets say you assume the region sends 4.
Geneseo, Cortland, Rochester, NYU
Your best 10 individuals right now not on those teams are
Rakoc, ST. Lawrence
Bickell, Ithaca
Sidebottom, TCNJ
Gallagher, TCNJ
Levitz, RPI
Paterson, St. Lawrence
Hitchcock, Ithaca
Jiak, Buff State
Ngabo, Buff State
Payne, Utica College
If it sends 5, assume St. Lawrence
Thats 2 spots in that 10, so i would add
Martin, Plattsburgh
Shearer, Plattsburgh
