Dean Karnazes trains on an alliptigo all the time. And he has been named fittest athlete on the planet. Maybe it will work for Adam, too. |

Kara obviously, after watching the video Shalane looks like a jr high girl and Kara a woman. Come on Kara drop the zero on the Eliptigo and get with a real man. I await the deletion of this comment. Until then discuss |

Shalane for me. I think the eliptigo looks like it would be fun to ride. |

I think it looks like a lot more fun than cross training inside. I wouldn't mind using one if I had the money. |

This should have been edited down to about the 45 seconds where you actually saw them running... |

Show a little MF respect for Adam Goucher dumb-ass. He was a serious baller in his day. He beat Bernard Lagat and Abdi like a drum in college, Meb too. He was the guy who bridged the mid-1990s American runners slowdown with our resurgance after 2000. He was the only American after Bob Kennedy and before 2004 who did not fear the Africans. It's sad to see the guy can't even really run anymore. It would appear he's ruined his body. |
| what you talking bout man |

Tim Broe did not fear the Africans. Meb is from the same era as is Lagat both went on to much better success. He did beat them as well as Abdi. But they also won NCAA titles. Goucher only won one NCAA XC title. So I would not say he beat them like drums. |

When 2 athletes do all of their training together, there is always a possibility someone is overtraining and someone is undertraining. |

On consecutive days in February 2000, he won both the short (4K) and long course (12K) races at the USATF National Cross Country Championships under cold, muddy conditions in North Carolina. During 2000, he also made his first Olympic team, placing first in the Olympic Trials in the 5000 m. He was 13th in the 5000 m at the Sydney Olympic Games. He also ran 7:34 for the 3K, was 6th at IAAF World Cross 4K, and beat Lagat in the indoor 3000 at NCAAs in 1997 and set an NCAA record (7:46). The reason Goucher didn't have a better career was because he kept getting injured. This is a sad reality for him because if he could have trained straight through for all those years he would have been able to match or exceed Lagat, Meb and Abdi. |
