I was the one who initially on this board suggested that there were some really fast soccer players over in Europe. Specifically, I remember that when I was pretty good, 10.5-ish, there were some Scottish soccer players who were faster than I was, so all things being equal, they were 10.4, with obviously lots of soccer training but no specific sprint training. Had they been put into dedicated sprints, if they had survived, they probably would have gone 10.1-10.2 Take a look at this Gemili guy. All of a sudden, people are convinced that he is doping, and his 10.08 in the semi's doesn't help matters any. He seems to have "come out of nowhere" to be the best in the UK, but I'm telling you, some of those soccer guys are in great sprinting shape. I'm pretty sure he would have been one of those 10.4 guys with no specific training, who is now a 10.1 guy WITH training. VERY impressive. Of course, if he goes sub-10 I will be absolutely SCREAMING "drugs!". Gemili has the form, he looks very credible. I think he's maxxed-out at his potential right now, but he seems to be able to deliver it consistently, which is impressive. Too bad Chambers beat him at the GBR trials. It would be great if Gemili beat Chambers clean, but it might be even better if he beat him dirty. Either way, it would have been a good thing. |

"Brits Are Hoping 10.08 Guy Adam Gemili Will Become 4th Brit To Win World Jr. 100m Gold For some reason, we think this guy who also is going to the Olympics is overhyped and we'll give $100 to the charity of his choice if he wins World Jr. gold in the individual 100m." Come on Gemili! |

Are you talking about Gemili? IDK, he looks solid to me, especially while he is running. But then again, even Gatlin looks solid to me. If you ignore Gatlin's cabbage patch head, he's not that bad at all, and he looks like he's been getting better. But Gemili looks like a solid 18-year-old. And MAN, does he run beautifully. He ran a 10.08 previous to this one, in which he missed the gun! |

What am I missing here? The first round of the 100 was this morning with Gemili running 10.37 with a -2.5 m/s wind (and a mediocre 0.192 reaction time). The semis are tomorrow. |

SkyArt-- I think both that the other guy false started, and Gemili missed the gun. It looks like he comes out a bit later than everyone else in the race, no? |

He needs to eat a few more donuts if he wants to break Darren Campbell's fat man 100m world record. |

I don't think so, he looks even with the rest, other than the guy who false started, and the other guy beside him who looks like a fast started Also just so you all no, this isn't his first year running track, which he has done fro a while and he started training in 2010, leading to that 10.35 he ran last year |
