Galen Rupp Would Have Been 11th In Paris 5000m 7/6/2012 3:27PM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
Yes, folks, I am not in any way underselling Galen. I think Galen might have set a personal best and run 12:56 today in Paris. That is how much I believe in him. This would have gotten Galen a solid 11th place finish. Now some of you unwashed will understand why Galen CANNOT medal in London. I am not sure where Farah would have finished, but my sense is Farah would have also set a pb and been in the top 5.

Actually, he beat the 4th, 5th, and 6th place finishers from today at Pre. I guess I was wrong... AGAIN.

Oops, I forgot to say "unwashed" in my last post.

Unwashed.

You're right, OP. If there's one thing we know about Olympic distance races, it's that they are always won by the best time trialer. It is very likely that the 5K in London will also go through 3K in 7:43.

I am the OP, and I have changed my name due to a stalker who is apparently obsessed with me.
The fact is that Galen is not capable of running with these guys, and he NEVER will be. I have been trying to tell that to the obtuse, but it just hasn't been sinking in. I have proven to be accurate in a way that can only be termed as dazzling.

You don't understand racing do you? And Bekele would have been 1st based on his WR. Oops- he was in the race and was way back.
There's a reason they run races and don't just give awards based on PR's and times from your last race.

You're the moron who doesn't understand racing. I am the one who predicted the Paris race perfectly, except it was even faster than I thought it would be. So STFU when it is obvious who knows more about the sport.

Rupp also wouldn't have broken 13 at Pre, and he would have no shot at beating Lagat in the OT 5k.
guess you were wrong then

If it was faster than you thought it would be, you did not predict it correctly.

Listen, I singled out the top 3, predicted Gebremeskel as the winner and even said it would be the fastest 5000m in 2 years. That is better than any of the Letsrun crowd could have done.
just wondering.

Have you EVER made a correct prediction in a race involving Galen Rupp?

How is that possible since you are one of the Letsrun crowd?

You know, Jesse, I bet if I predict golf ball-sized hail for tomorrow's weather every day for the next year, eventually it's probably gonna happen. The problem is that no one is going to impressed that I was right once and wrong almost all the time. The prediction you made would have been super impressive if it had been made by anyone else. But, unfortunately, it was made by you. So it's not.
