careful guys...the truth is obvious...but there is money to be made. If you get in the way of THAT, you'll find yourselves shut out.
Obviously the Nike Supreme Council in Beijing sent Mark Block to rescue track and field TV viewership from the current incompetent staff at Nike USA.
There were a lot of things that made me mad as an onlooker at the trials. Really opened my eyes to NIke, and how corrupt they really are.

....do tell
Way to go after him/them. Your questions seemed reasonable.
Wejo/especially Rojo:
Awesome job. You've made me proud to call myself a Letsrunner today.
Keep it up!
Let's keep trying to ruin the image of Track and Field in this country. Great job.
Nice coverage of some really questionable activity. I think it should be, but do you guys know if it's actually illegal or against his ban for him just to be there as a spectator?
Not sure what I think about all of this...BUT, I do know that you went about your questioning all wrong...In your fit of anger you went straight for the heart:

and then asked about Jeter.
If you really wanted to catch him you should of asked him what he thought about the meet>Women\'s 100m> Jeter AND THEN snuck in the so what are you doing here?
I doubt he has any idea of who you are and would of been happy to answer but instead you immediately called him out (unless there is footage we haven\'t seen). Blew a great chance!
Sorry I meant to say that qoute was Rojo! Mixed up my brojos.
my question as well - what are the stipulations in his 10 yr 'ban' - is that public knowledge?
Yes, I think this is completely justifiable, and worthy of a response from Nike officials. They ban Brooks execs for a goofy sign, but wine and dine an agent/coach who has been banned for trafficking illegal substances?
At best, it's terrible decisionmaking, at worst, it's a link to some nefarious stuff behind the scenes.
This is outstanding. Keep up the pressure. Zero tolerance for drug cheats.
AWESOME article, Brojos. Almost makes me want to donate money to your site.

I agree we blew we had any chance of nailing him in a specific violation.
We did think about just tipping off the authorities so they could set up a sting operation for as seemingly public as Block had been it probably would be very easy to catch him violating his ban if he actually is doing more than just spectating (in the NFL spectating is a violation).
But then Block's ban would just probably be made lifetime and nothing else would happen. There would be know condemnation of everyone else involved.
In the grand scheme of things, Block is a very big size fish in an ocean.
Lots of people - whether its top employees at Nike, fellow agents, athletes, coaches, etc. - deserve blame for not tipping of USADA a long time ago.
Nike pays most of the bills in this sport and they need to 100% get behind the right side of this doping fight. If they set an example, a lot of other people will follow.
He can certainly be there as a spectator. That's not against his ban. The issue really is that Nike's VIP tent is only accessible with Nike credentials. So even if he bought tickets to the meet, someone at Nike gave him credentials to sit up there during the meet. What I want to know is if he was sitting in the infamous "Cap's Corner" - the place reserved for John Capriotti's (head of nike sports marketing) entourage. Brojos, please find out. Or if someone reading this was sitting up there, let us know where he was and who he was hanging out with. The whole thing is shameful and I'm glad the Brojos have pursued this. Props to them.

Someone should contact ABC and CBS networks for their "investigative" shows. Don't bother with NBC because they are doing the Olympics.
Wow, Nike is still wining and dining a major doper! So lets here it fanboys, whats your excuse for your Nike/Oregon/Salazar boys now?? Looks like the smoke may be clearing to reveal some doping violations (like Rupps bullshit "thyroid medication") that have long been suspected of the Nike/Oregon camps, especially with Salazar and Rupp. Looks like everyone who has accused them of cheating and doping is going to be right after all!
Excellent find brojos, nice reporting work!

Agreed. Good intent, bad execution.
This is like Michael Moore descending upon people in public and when, understandably, they don't feel like doing exactly what Moore wants, we're supposed to conclude they're trying to hide something.
Are the Brojos cool with anyone following them around asking questions and implying nefarious doings if they don't answer?
