Need help finding places to run in DC 7/3/2012 11:31AM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
This fall I will be studying a semester in the DC area and need a places in which i can run consistently to keep in shape for the indoor/outdoor track seasons. Im planning on running around 75-85 miles p/week during this time so i wouldnt want to be running at little parks in monotonous circles. Im staying in the Northeast part of DC off of 8th street between maryland and massachusetts.
Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Dude, just do a search. DC run threads get posted everyday.

You are on Capitol Hill, right behind the Capitol, so you will likely just run through the Mall to various trails along the Potomac. You are fine with regards to mileage, more trails than you can deal with.

Rock Creek
C&O
Mount Vernon Trail
W&OD
Capital Crescent
Custis Trail
Various neighborhood trails in Northwest

Some are paved and some are soft surface.

Make sure you eat and drink at Tune Inn at least once a week, that is your neighborhood dive.
