As much as I HAVE to root for my Ducks... I am disappointed that Robby Andrews didn't make the team; he really should have stuck with the 800. That will be looked on as a no brainer for a long, long time. He would have been a great bet to finish top 3. Disappointed for Anna Willard...even though we probably have the best 3 on the team. Assuming Jenny Simpson can have a good year the rest of the way and not have a slump after the high of last year. Would have been nice to see Brian Clay and Batman make it too. |

Rupp winning and setting OT records in the 10000m and the 5000m. That was just awful. |

1. Injury to Walter Dix. Likely hurt US medal count. 2. Wariner not making the US team. 3. Bryan Clay (and nobody to replace him). Simpson I think is not a problem. She came along slowly last year and was basically nowhere until Monaco. Juli Benson did a great job of getting her to peak at exactly the right time (of course a little lucky for them that Morgan tripped). I was actually wondering if she was going to come into OT in good enough shape to make the team. Now that she did, it looks like Benson and Simpson have them exactly where they want them. On the other hand, it was great to see the world's fastest gang shooting victim (Byshon Nellum) make it. Also great to see Tyson Gay's "toothpicks and rubber bands" hold together through the heats. |

Will Leer throwing away a near-guaranteed 4th place, and a shot at 3rd. |

Who the hell cares about 4th or 3rd place when you don't have the A-standard? Can you imagine the regret he'd have if he finished 3rd in 3:37, knowing he didn't give himself a shot to run the A AND qualify? Seriously, why is this the biggest disappointment for you, were you really that excited to see Will Leer get 4th place? |

Huling. Definitely think he is one of our three best, likely second-best. Not sure what happened on that last 200. |

TG losing to Gatlin. Would have liked to see Crawford in the 200m. |

Huling has been beaten by Jager and Cabral every time he has raced them this year. How can you say he is the second best? I thought he had a chance at 3rd at the trials but in no way did I ever think he would finish top 2. his total collapse over the final 150 or so was somewhat surprising, but it's pretty clear that Jager and Cabral are well ahead of everyone right now. |

As a Jersey boy, I have to say Robby Andrews' 5th place. Unbiased? Bryan Clay missing is a pretty big deal. Not sure why we even bother with decathlon trials to be honest. David Oliver not making the team was pretty surprising. |

I didn't have any big disappointments. I didn't expect Robby Andrwews to make the 800 or 1500 team because he wasn't one the best three in either event. I was concerned he might nab a spot from an athlete who may be better on the world stage. I thought Jock had the talent to compete in the Olympics but I am happy with KD and Solomon who had world class efforts to make the team. My question going in was who would be eliminated with Lomong, Wheating, Manzano and Centro in the 1500. But Lomong took care of that by making the 5000 team and they are all going to London. That put Bumbi out but there was more disappointment in Solinsky not being healthy. I like the 10,000 team. The sprints and hurdles are weaker then they have been in the past. No Dwight Philips in the long jump is a bummer. |

Jeneba! Jeneba is a COWARD who brings shame to the sport. Bad calls or unfair calls are part of ANY sport. You don't see a professional team quit a playoff series because of a bad call. You don't see a tennis player quit a match because of a bad call. You suck it up and you go out there and your test your mettle on the court or track or whatever battlefield. Win or lose you battle with dignity to the conclusion. You don't quit. You don't quit. You don't quit. Jeneba brought dishonor to herself and the sport. How many times have they raced again? Yeah, Cabral beat Huling in Huling's opener. Pretty sure Cabral was way closer to peak form... not sure that established without question that Cabral is superior. Huling has run quite a bit faster than any of them, just ran his best 1500 ever (3:37), and was looking to be in peak shape at the Olympics. I think there is a great chance that he is better than Cabral right now. Which would be more surprising over the next 2 months: Cabral running 8:10-11 or Huling running 8:10-11? I'd go with Cabral. And I don't even think Huling is definitely ahead of Cabral, but unless you don't follow the event, saying that Cabral is well ahead makes no sense. |

^^^^HAHAHAHA....That really made me laugh. I would have to say Wariner, Oliver and yes Webb. I used to love watching Wariner run but he is clearly become stricken with whatever run-like-shit disease Webb has too since he cant even break 45 anymore. I didnt think Webb would do much at the trials but I thought it would be a step forward for him and not an absolute disaster like it was. And WTF has happened to David Oliver?? He was on fire last year and has sucked ever since, I thought he could challenge for gold |

Maggie Vessey. She wasn't even close. She had a good spring/early summer outdoors, clocking two performances at just above 2:00. But in the final, she just had dead legs and ran two seconds slower than her semi to finish dead last. Maybe an injury. But she surely could have made the team but for the blow up at the final. |

Why wasn't Christin Wurth-Thomas there? She had a qualifying time submitted, but never declared. She has a most amazing career and most amazing coach, I guarantee she'll go far in the future. |

This time around the track and field pundits were extremely accurate in their predictions of the 800 and 1500 races. Andrews was only a mild disappointment since he is relatively new to the scene. |

Wariner and Clay for sure. As disappointed as I was, not surprised either though. Wariner certainly wasn't showing any improvement leading up to the Trials. Clay had not finished a decathlon in 2 years, correct? At that level I'd think that is like working to place top 3 in a marathon but not having been able to even train for a marathon and/or run one in the 2 years prior. |
