if she would have been on the line in the bend then she would have gotten DQ, she didn't harm anyone by steeping on the line there!
yes.
will they.
no.
track and field is beyond corrupt, pure vileness.
Blatant DQ.
Kimberlyn Duncan should protest, she is rightfully on the team.
Maybe if she wasn't a Nike-sponsored athlete.
Richards-Ross didn't have to be disqualified. According to IAAF rule 163.4.b (or however it's supposed to be written, and assuming the trials were subject to IAAF rules), "[a]n athlete shall not be disqualified if he...runs outside his lane in the straight or outside the outer line of his lane on the bend, with no material advantage thereby being gained and no other athlete being obstructed."
So absent any evidence that Richards-Ross obstructed another runner as she drifted to the outside lane, it appears that she should not be disqualified.
She drifted OUTSIDE of her lane and didn't impede anyone. It'd be much different if she was all over the line on the inside on the curve, or if she elbowed someone next to her.
When Wallace was DQ'd in Beijing did he step on the outer line or inner?
what a stupid thread - she was on the outside. OP, please don't ever become an official in T&F. No infraction here, just a moronic poster.
spearmon stepped on the inside...I don't understand how anyone could be confused on this. As the rule quoted above says, you only get dqed for being out of your lane if you are too far inside on a curve or you interfere with someone else. its common sense.
No advantage gained when you run on the OUTSIDE of the line on the STRAIGHTAWAY

Inner
On the straight, you can theoretically slalom from lane 1 to 8 and back, and if you aren't impeding someone, you don't HAVE to get DQ'd. The straight is completely different than the turn. Take your Nike conspiracy hard on to the bathroom and deal with it.
So one could draft behind a competitor in the straightaway. (No advantage to drafting in an outer lane on the turn.)
She should be be DQ'd for the stupid commercial she's in that keeps on being shown over and over.
