USATF said that the race had to be run by the conclusion of the trials, right?

I hate to be nit picky, but why are they able to pick and choose which rules to enforce?

We may as well let the athletes govern their sport...

You're not being nit-picky; you're being logical. Unfortunately, that concept doesn't exist within USATF.

They are literally making this up as they go along.

Agreed about the governance, though.
