Looked injured
I think he got bounced around a lot.
Ran in last from gun to tape. Weird.
No heart. Ran in last place for the majority of the race and never really made a move. I didn't see him get bounced around at all.

Almost, but yeah -- He looked like he wasn't in the race mentally.

I agree. His face looked like he was defeated early on. Too much anxiety?
He's injured, you jag-wagons!!!
He just didn't write a blog telling the world about it. So how about everyone starts a thread about how COURAGEOUS HE IS!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!
Thanks Captain O. You're right, he's hurt. An achilles strain in yesterday's race. Treatment all night and today but just couldn't recover.
It's really too bad ... he was in good shape and ready to go.

It usually takes the eyes of some scumbag viewing from behind a screen to really get a sense for how much heart someone runs with. Good analysis.

Good thing we had that first heat to eliminate 6 runners.
Well, I'm glad to know he wasn't pulling a Vessey.
Before the semi, he was jogging okay but walked very stiffly. A wad of black physio tape was stuck on above his left achilles tendon. Deduction: injured before the semi and it hurt to run fast.
You are welcome.
watch the tape.
he was limping the whole race.
I can also confirm the injury.
It was obvious in first lap when he did not position himself as he typically does.

As always, whirledpeas is correct.

If you're injured, it seems to me racing and taking a shot, while knowing you're not at your best, is the definition of "heart". After what had to be an incredibly disappointing race, Brown still stopped and signed some autographs for fans making his way from the track to the athlete only area. I thought that showed some real class. He'll be back; it's just too bad on the timing of this injury.
Hayward102 is right. Russell has both heart and class. Lots of both.
His interview after the race shows it. It's worth a watch.
(I'd go find it on that other site, where you can actually hear what he says.)
