With Hart, on track to becoming the GOAT of the 400. Since leaving, gradual decline to becoming a foot note. |

Stu Hart has trained many a fine athlete in his Canadian dungeon. |

I don't think anyone thought it was a good idea for him to leave..l |

Wariner himself admitted that it was a mistake. That's why he went back to Hart in early 2009. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/olympics/2009-05-21-wariner-coach_N.htm?csp=34 |

It was a mistake, but I do not think it has any bearing on what is happening now. I believe Wariner re-united with Hart in 2009. Wariner has slowed and others have stepped up. Happens in sports. |

Ding ding ding...we have a winner. this is the answer. Leaving Hart in 2008 most likely cost Wariner the Gold in 2008. His Woes (more accurately, his problems) since then are not related to leaving Hart. |

Hart shouldn't have taken him back. |

You obviously are naive. Coaches and managers etc get greedy and demand more and more of an athlete's earnings. The athlete pays all the expenses and the manager and coach often get much of the gravy. Wariner got tired of it. Believe me, coaches are in this for the money just like everyone else. Hart was no whit hat. I lost my respect for Hart when he bragged about Wariner having to crawl back to him. What cocky arrogance. No class. Someone here commented on Johnson giving Wariner some shit, Johnson was the biggest jerk out there when he was breaking records. How many times did he refuse to run in this country because the money wasn't enough? As I have said earlier, too many of you here are naive as to how the world really works. You still have a grade school naivete. |

Night Runner, you cannot argue with the negative sequence of events after Wariner left Hart. At his level of talent, you simply suck it up and deal with Hart's perceived greedy financial negotiating tactics. What about Wariner's agent? he failed his client. Coaches have a right to ask for what they are think they're worth. Its up to the Agent to mediate and find a way to keep the glue together. The long run and good vibes at the track everyday is more important than a relatively small financial split. No 2008 Olympic Gold, that's the bottom line. It is clearly very closely correlated to Wariner leaving Hart. |

defending his title in 08 meant legacy, instead he was a flash in the pan. |

WTF!! He's had a great career and it's now over. I wish him well and it's time to move on. |

Since Wariner's decline began with his RETURN to Hart, not his departure, this particular narrative is clearly false |
