Believe he is coming off a broken leg. Golfs more than runs.
In the fall he was cooling down after a race and his leg got run over by a car. He officially retired this spring.
Ummmmm who?
Why is a guy who ran a 342 noteworthy?
I don't understand did he medal at the Olympics or something

Hip hip Jorge, can we stop talking about him now?
He's been battling compartment syndrome in his calves. He has not retired and hopes to be back in the fall.

You must be talking about a different Jorge Torres, because the one that this thread is about has a PR of 3:41.
But seriously, we care about him because he ran in the Olympics and the World Championships, as well as several World Cross Country Championships. He also won NCAA Cross Country and Footlocker Cross Country and was the first male freshman to qualify for Footlocker. He may not be on the level of a Galen Rupp, but he has had a long and distinguished career.
Also, this is a free country and forum (mostly), and someone can start a thread about a 4:30 guy if they want too.
In fairness, he was on the 2008 Olympic team in the 10,000.
please stop responding, a 342 guy doesn't deserve this many reponses
