middlebury's team score is off too. There top runner Jack Davies isn't listed in the results and I think he was top 35, which would drop them around 100 points into 8th.

Because the other teams don't have to deal with injuries either. Pretty sure Kramer and VanderRoest had their own injury troubles. No need to take a jab at another team. Hats off to NC for getting in done on the only day that matters.

Odd, it seemed the scores changed from the first time I looked. St. Olaf is now 12th, Middlebury 11th, NYU 22nd.
Jack Davies of Middlebury finished ~21st but wasn't in the original results and still isn't in the live results (supposedly a chip issue). There is a chance there were similar issues with other runners.
I can see why LR confidently offers 200K for anyone picking a perfect 10. Impossible. From my top 10, Mascote was 47th, Kerley 14th, Jones, who was in the top 3 in the first 1K was 70th, Kerr 43rd, Easker 25th, Kieser 15th.

I wouldn't just say fortunately for Calvin. A healthy Schilit finishes 50-60 places higher and Haverford wins.
How good would NCC be if Perez was not hurt and Sparks does not transfer.
Still you have to run the race on the day.
Crain missed 5 weeks in the middle of the season and is just coming back.
In the end the best coaches have the best teams. Every year it is Haverford, Calvin and NCC. If you want to find the best three coaches in D3 you do not need to look further.
Final official results have NC winning, Haverford and Calvin tied for second, and Lax 4th. That was the podium.
Official results show Calvin 2nd, haverford 3rd, lax 4th
Awards were delayed while this all got figured out. Protest period ended and the official results announced at the meet are that Haverford and Calvin tied for second.
Book it.

Watching the stream, Nelson looked absolutely spent in the end, was slowing down the last 50 meters, and collapsed after the line. Was it windy and he had a rough day out front the whole time? Or perhaps he just felt his 8 second lead was comfortable enough and was glad to be done. He was a senior in track so I'm guessing his eligibility is over?
The guy was absolutely out on his feet in the last 600m. I wouldn't have been surprised had he keeled over and not finished. SRS.
In the men's results, why does Delta Timing have this listed?
95. (70) Avi Bregman (Haverford) 25:39.8
95. (69) Greg Whittle (Calvin) 25:39.8
You can't give a tie to the overall place, and then break the tie for the scoring place. And why is 70 listed ahead of 69?
Dan Kerr from Calvin went down about 300m into the race and was pushed back to about 150th. He finished 46th overall, but he's easily a top ten guy. If that doesn't happen, it's a different race and Calvin probably wins...
If Jordan Schilit isn't hurt Haverford probably wins...
If Crain doesn't run out of his mind North Central doesn't win...
Crazy race overall, but that's why you run!

Yeah, he was struggling mightily at the end. He barely made it across the line on his feet, and was dragged to the side by a volunteer after he collapsed in the chute. Pretty awesome effort. Cool to see a ROTC guy running so well, he wore his formal Army attire to the banquet.

One of many questions I think they're trying to straighten out and resolve placing by going to the finish line video.
Nope, the clear top three finished 1 & 2 (weird as that is...). You'll listen next year when I tell you.
Epic race though, NCC in fourth with a k to go, Lacrosse winning, then those two flipping, and Haverford and Calvin tying, those three teams with ridiculously high scores, all while Nelson looked to have barely made it across the line in a comfortable 8s win! Jeez. We won't see a burner like this again in a while.

Every team has issues to overcome. Given the loss of Sparks and Perez, North Central arguably overcame more than anyone this year.
Ugh, enough with the ifs and buts. NYU would've run train if only Kithuka had decided to go there instead of Texas Tech!
The race was just run, and we saw what we saw. No excuses.
Actually NYU would still have had a team score of 379 with Kithuka running for them, and thus would have still sucked.
Since it’s never too early to speculate on next season, I’ve created a little spreadsheet and removed all the seniors and individuals. Of the 24 teams in the race, 19 of will return at least 4 non-seniors. (2 teams had 6 seniors: Calvin and Geneseo; and 3 teams had 4 seniors: Wheaton, Luther, and Trinity).
Scoring “the race” 4-deep without seniors, produces these results:
Wash U 102
Haverford 117
Central 121
No Central 132
LaCrosse 136
St. Olaf 136
Bates 163
Carnegie M 165
Williams 169
Bowdoin 170
Tufts 179
Allegheny 198
Dickinson 199
Middlebury 200
Cortland 292
CMS 301
Rochester 309
Eau Claire 314
Hopkins 326
Wabash 341
Pomona 351
Manchester 356
Case West 361
NYU 369
Lynchburg 398
LaVerne 414
St. Lawrence 418
Obviously, nationals is just under a year away, and a lot can happen between now and then. But doing this exercise might reveal some themes going into next year:
1. It looks like Calvin, which graduates 6 of their top 7 will be in for a rebuilding year and will not be challenging for their usual podium spot.
2. The coaches will probably rank North Central and Haverford 1-2 going into the season, but might Wash U be the team to beat?
3. There’s a lot of parity at the top, with the top 6 separated by just 34 points and 14 teams between 102 and 200. Might next year produce another winner with a unusually high score?
4. With Central and St. Olaf 3rd and 6th respectively, are we going to need to start paying attention to the Central region?
5. It looks like the NESCAC is in for another topsy turvy year with all five qualifying teams returning a majority of their runners.

That's interesting stuff. I'll be shocked if Calvin doesn't just reload, though. Ditto North Central and Haverford. They are pretty much always the teams to beat, regardless of how many guys they have returning. Their depth in terms of guys #8-20 is what really puts them a cut above. I guarantee all of those teams will have All-Americans next year that no one is talking about now.
