10th

I find it hard to believe that a team (Claremont, CA) who just averaged under 25:00 per scoring runner is only ranked 9th in D3. Was the course short or something?
From all reports it was stupendously fast.

True. Flat loops on short grass. Very few turns too. Wet but not muddy for the men, but it was a lot softer for the women.
I hear Jones is a level 84 Night Elf. Not even Tim Nelson can compete with that...
i think its straight wack that cms is only 10? the people making the ranks need to get off their knees because they are blowing it big time.
The post-regionals rankings come out today, so the latest polls reflect conference championship results and not regional results. They will probably move up a decent bit.
Still though, teams from the West have a history of running some blazing times on courses that are essentially glorified road races and/or short, and then coming to nationals and not placing in the top 10. CMS could be an exception this year, but if they don't end up ranked that much higher that is probably why.
They beat Augustana, Wabash and Johns Hopkins at the pre-national meet, but those teams are all pretty mediocre and ranked in the 20s. Hopkins might be a bit better than that (they were only 17 seconds per man behind Haverford at Regionals), but when those are the only out of region teams you've beat and neither your team nor your region has a history of high finishes at nationals, its hard to say with a lot of confidence they are going to be a podium contender.

Go ahead and prove it next week. From my perspective it looks like you just ran on a short course and want to whine about your team's ranking.

I had St. Lawrence instead of Machester. Not bad guessing. It will be a lot harder to guess if they ever remove the 5 team cap.
Cap will be lifted starting next year.
individual champion predictions? (men and women)
Nelson and Cazzola.

I thought Nelson was unbeatable after he ran sub-24 at the Wisconsin meet, and although I still think he is the favorite, I think guys like Mascote or Over could give him a run for his money.
CMS had a 5 man average that was 45+ seconds slower than Noah Droddy at Prenationals.
Calvin had a 5 man average that was 7 seconds slower than Noah Droddy at Regionals.
Do you really think those two teams belong in the same conversation for a podium spot? CMS will be lucky to finish higher than their ranking.
NE region will have all 5 teams in the top 12, with 2 in the top 5
I could only get an affordable flight via Chicago. Is anyone driving to Chicago immediately following the Women's race with room in their car for me to get a ride to the airport? (I have a 6:30pm flight)
Email me if you can help.
Thanks
Steinbrunner rolls Cazzola just like at Oshkosh
Two points, both about New England.
A. NE guys may put 5 teams in the top 12 (top 15 is a little more likely) but they won't put more than one in the top 7.
B. Steinbrunner could roll Cazzola, but it's gonna be for second behind Keri Lambert.

A week after prenationals, Calvin averaged -32 seconds on the Droddy scale. Or, should I say, 32 droddys? 32 droddys is a lot closer to 46 droddys than 7 droddys. A lot can change in a few weeks (or even a week).

Pre-Nats to now is a long time for people to improve, especially when you are comparing a team average to an individual. Also, no one was saying CMS is going to make a run for the title. It looks like they are a pretty good team who lit up a fast Regionals course and will have a great shot and getting into the top 10.
