"I am out of the Olympic Trials with a sprain in the iliosacral ligament of my back. I look forward to being in Eugene anyway and cheering for our future 2012 Olympic team."

That's too bad. The odds were against her making the team but she looked great earlier in the season, especially given her age. She is one of the greats and it would have been good to see her at the trials.

Disappointing for sure. She is such a wonderful person and has such a strong pedigree. I think she is a bit of an inspiration and leader for other women.

I'm pissed because she got married. Oh yea just because her husband is all way good looking, very successful and out there with her every second is no reason to marry the dude. I been like sleeping in my car for years, driving all over the country to watch her races...sending her massages. She
never gave me a chance. Her husband is one lucky son of a gun! I hate him. God speed Deena...I'll stay away from Oregon. :) I gave up! :)

Deena has been the class of women's distance running for 10+ years. It's too bad she won't be at the trials. It's too bad she won't be going to London after her disappointment in Beijing but she has still had a an incredible career.

She has to have passed her peak as a road racer but based on what she did on the track this spring she will certainly be competitive when she's healthy again.

Ya know I thought Deena looked awful stiff in her last race. I mean she looked very mechanical in her form or something. I told someone she looks very stiff and rigid doesn't she. Back problems...Ouch!!!
