Today Kenenisa turns 30 years old. KB is now well past his peak as a track star. It is time for me to glance into my crystal ball once again. KB will get the silver medal at 10,000m in London. KB will not medal at 5,000m in London. KB will NEVER run faster than 12:54 and 26:40 again. KB will go down as one of the all time greats. KB simply does not have the ability to outkick the best in the world anymore, but he is still a factor and still one of the best currently competing, as evidenced by his silver medal in London. |

Seriously this guy needs to be banned from the boards. I'm tired of him spamming nonsense about the pros. |

This thread is not about me and my genius. Please stop making me the center of attention. I am a bit shy for all of that. Kenenisa will get silver at 10,000m in London, but his days of running under 12:54 and 26:40 are over. Everybody with a modicum of intellect can see that. |

yeah man, you're just annoying. i don't know if you take pleasure in this, but i want you to know this text corresponds to a completely apathetic attitude toward you. |

Try making sense and learning how to write with the capacity to actually convey coherence next time. You have nothing to offer, so you piddle in your pants. |

Agreed that he will not medal in the 5k. Finding it hard to doubt him in the 10k though. Just could not see anyone outkicking him on the final lap. This man will show up in London. Glad I have tickets for it. |

Finally, a substantive post. I know, it is difficult to imagine KB getting outkicked on the last lap, but of course at one time it was difficult to imagine Geb being outkicked, too. KB won't be able to deliver this year, but a silver is nothing to be ashamed of. |

Double Gold. Take it to the bank. |

For who? Nobody. Gebremeskel will be very difficult to beat in the 5000m, and although Kenenisa will not win gold at 10,000m, he may make the gold medal winner suffer in the 10, so there is unlikely to be a double winner at 5 and 10. |

Note that Lagat, at 37, is one of the top medal contenders in the 5k. Bekele is definitely not too old. I will admit that Lagat is an anomaly in terms of success at that age, but Bekele probably has more left in him than we're seeing right now. It takes a while to get the ball rolling after such a significant injury, especially when your volume isn't quite there. I could even see him running a bit off this year, perhaps getting silver or bronze in the 10, and then coming back to get gold in Moscow in 2013. |
