Wow, what hype! This is going to be the best chance the Americans have had in 20 years to win Boston. This video gets me fired up. I can't wait to be at Mile 19 next year. http://youtu.be/ohP0r9Gbmw4 Here is the article. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/john-hancock-announces-top-american-team-for-2013-boston-marathon-2012-06-13 |

What a copout. I'm not sure the race deserves to be an international major if they get much more restrictive on invites. It actually begs an interesting question about the RDs fixing the WMM competition. Look at the following quote: "Thanks to John Hancock Financial, which assembles the elite athlete field for us, next year's Boston Marathon will have a decidedly American feel to it," said Tom Grilk, B.A.A. Executive Director. |

Your criticism seems a little premature. You have to consider that the BAA might announce an international field sometime in the next 10 months. There's also the off chance that someone from that international field might be competitive enough to win the race as has happened for the last 27 years. |

are they gonna have any appearance money left for a good international field after these 3? both boston and NYC have clearly been desperate for an american winner the past several years |
