Would Oscar Pistorius Get the "A" from the outer lanes? 6/9/2012 2:41PM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
The turns must be really tough on him. If he could probably get into one of the outer lanes, he would have a better chance at the "A".

Does he always get lane 1 because of a slow seed time or is there a special rule that he HAS to start in lane 1?

There are some videos of him catching his limb and face-planting right at the start. If he did that with someone in another lane just behind him he might impede or injure someone.

I'm not saying that's the case, but it seems like he is ALWAYS in lane 1 in these DL meets.

I could really care less about this a**hole taking a lane from a qualified runner, so we can see a freak show.

He's usually Not Qualified to run in these meets. He's a crowd pleaser, so he gets into these races, and so he gets the least desired lane.

It would be cool if someone traded lanes with him and gave him a decent lane so he can make the games.

He's a good freak show.

I've watched him 3 times this season and he really seems to be running out of gas the last 70m or so. He starts off slow (expected) and really does well from ~150m-the top of the home stretch but just doesn't have anything left from there. He would have a better chance at the time from an outer lane but I don't think he has it in him this year.

He shouldn't even be in that heat. They leave out 44 second guys to give him a shot.

I wouldn't mind betting that his recent 'slow' times are due to them testing his carbon legs. I reckon he ran the fast times on the souped up versions.

He is running up and down on the spot.

No.

You need legs in order to get the A standard.

Oscar has the A standard from running 45.07 last July.
Is South Africa requiring him to run it again to make the team?

He's not going to get it from the inside lane. He'd have a better shot from lane 8, even.
