Penn State will get the W. This team is coming ALIVE. Brady Gehret is the new Jeremy Wariner (44.2 split). Brandon Bennett-Green has come out of nowhere to split 44.8. Cas Loxsom will be fresh since he bombed the 800. Aaron Nadolsky will do enough to not mess up too badly. THIS TEAM IS GOING TO WIN. THREE WHITES, ONE 4x4. |

Aaron Nadolsky will prevent this prediction from coming true. |

Yeah, that 46.6 leadoff really put the team in a huge hole last night. I'm not sure how the next three legs were able to pull the team from DFL to first in that pedestrian 3:01.5 NCAA leading time. Hopefully the team has an alternate available that is able to keep the team from being embarrassed again. Loser. |

Once Arkansas puts Gauntlett on the 4X4, Penn State will not win. Plus, they blew their wad in the semi's. |

Next year they will have a more suitable alternate. Top flight recruits combined with some very fast freshman underperforming this year will leave Nadolsky off the squad next season and everyone else will be back. |

Why the hate for Nadolsky? All he did was drop a 46.6 lead-off leg yesterday to put PSU right in the mix. All he did was score indoors in the open 400 this year and run the 400 leg on the Championship DMR and runner up indoor 4x4. All he did was hurt his back for most of outdoor but has rallied and is running the best he has all year right now. The kid belongs on the relay and is doing a great job. This is probably that underperformaning freshman who was sent home before Big Ten's bc he was being a punk... |

Nadolsky has been steady and consistent through indoors and outdoors. He is a smart, tough runner, and has battled through a back injury the entire spring. Running leadoff on any relay is tough, but especially on the 4x4 where you have to run lanes the whole way because of the 3 turn stagger...Nadolsky has consistently split in the low to mid 46s, which is a lot tougher to do than you think on a leadoff leg...Don't kid yourself, if Nadolsky were running 2nd or 3rd leg and got a moving start, and didn't have to run in lanes, he'd be splitting 45-mid. |

I don't know anything about this Nadolsky guy. I do know that running in your own lane is easier than having to cut in with the pack around you and worry about traffic. A lot of bumping goes on in NCAA 4x4s. Plus I'm pretty sure all of the world records have been set in lane 4 or 5. Lead off leg is slower because no running start. |

so many posts in and nobody has mentioned florida yet? with mcquay anchoring? the defending US champ and now the indoor and outdoor NCAA champ for this year? kid just ran a 44.5. hell, he split 44 flat on a 4x4 a month ago. he gets that stick down by 5m or less, floridas winning. |

Who was the freshman sent home for being a punk??? |

I've known Brady Gehret was an animal for several years now. We're both PA runners and I remember him tearing up the scene back in H.S. There was one indoor meet where he decided to run the 60m (not his specialty at all) and beat the guy who would end up winning the 60m at indoor states (Alex Kenney, who is currently a football player for PSU) |

Seriously....... the Sandusky joke is just off. Now......... if you want to make jokes about the current ass t&f coach and his personal life, that would be much more relevant............ |

hey, thanks for checking in with us, aaron! sorry though, 46-mid isn't going to cut it though. any relay at the upper levels needs to have their second best guy leading off, which he clearly isn't and wasn't. the weakest leg should be third, which makes me very surprised that cas was there. not saying he's terrible, but he's outclassed sizably by everyone on both lsu and florida. |

Gotta agree. You need to be at least sub45 and ideally sub44 to be competitive at the top these days. |

Nadolsky blew it! Bennett-Green and Gehret once again did incredible. They need a new leadoff leg badly. |

not saying he's terrible, but he's outclassed sizably by everyone on both lsu and florida.[/quote] This isn't true. Many different strategies work. In college, and many big international meets, wariner would run 3rd. Different orders work for different people. Some guys are great a chasing, others great at leading. It really all depends on the competition and team. |
