Derrick was faarrrrr far behind by the time the last 200 came
They were together at 400 to go. That counts as outkicking him.

No it does not. Incidentally, the kick actually has to START for you to outkick somebody.
Derrick fell off long before Levins started his actual kick (i.e. When he dropped Sambu with 200m to go)
And don't go saying that they "sped up slightly during the start of the last 400m so it counts as a kick", because that would be the equivalent of me saying that Sambu started kicking when he dropped the pace down from 69 seconds per lap to 65 seconds per lap.

For the sake of facts...Levins showed himself as a whimp, sitting behind everyone (Puskedra, Sambu, and Derrick) and waiting until the end to sprint in ahead of them. NOT IMPRESSED until he actually gets in a race and mixes it up with the Kenyans, Rupp, Farah and the like. Methinks he will have his jock handed to him by any of these guys.
Two years ago Sam Chelanga ran 27:08 and finished ahead of Rupp 27:10. Just over a month ago Cam Levins beat Chelanga at Payton, 27:27 to 27:29.
Levins will continue to show himself as an intelligent runner holding pace and using his leg speed to seek and destroy pretenders at the end. Given his convincing collegiate wins and times, logic reveals that Cam Levins will race well alongside Kenyans, Rupp, Farah and the like.
Nobody is saying "destroy"...but the kid will definitely hold up.
If he wants a real shot against Bekele, Farah, and Rupp, I just wish he would DNS the 5000 and think about the big dance. It's not like Southern Utah is actually going to win the thing.

With his training and the races he does? Absolutely not and if you mean Levins running well alongside the Kenyans, Rupp, and Farah in London then by God you're the biggest idiot that has ever posted on this forum. I have to say that Derrick looked like shit when he took the lead with 1000+ to go. You could tell right then that he was going to get owned.
