If Paula Radcliffe was in the 2012 London Olympic 10,000m race, she would surely medal. Looking at this year's competition in the race, her dominant speed and unmatched kick would put her far ahead of all the rest. If she was to go against people of this race's caliber, she could easily smash her PR of 30:01:09 in a race full of good competition. Does anyone else agree with me?

No Paula will run 33:17. Paula is not competitive anymore. Paula is crazy thinking she'll do well with 1 race in 2012.

Nice troll attempt. However, one thing to keep in mind: The 10,000 will be much easier to win or to medal than the Marathon.

In the Marathon you have Shubukova, Keitany, Kiplagat, a bunch of ETH women that ran sub 2:20. Paula will also have her hands full with the American ladies (Kara and Shalane at least).

Who is in the 10,000?

All I am saying is that if she was to run in the 10,000m race, she would have to possibility of doing very well. She may not be as competitive as she used to be, but with the right competition, she could medal no problem.

The "possibility" of doing well?!? SHE IS A LOCK FOR GOLD IN THE 10000m! Just like Galen Rupp!!

I agree with your Paula statement. However, Galen Rupp does have a chance to medal, but not a gold medal. He will get beaten by Bekele and Farah. The only chance he has to medal would require him to beat that one Kenyan.

1/10 (gave you a boost because some people took you seriously).

You almost had me there, but "unmatched kick" kind of gave the game away.

As pointed out before, he has a point. Paula is a very accomplished runner but you're not the GOAT if you don't have OG. In the end, it doesn't matter if 10k or Marathon, gold is gold. Then again, the Marathon is (besides the 100m) the most prestigious Olympic event overall.

The "unmatched kick" may have been a bit of an over statement, however, I still think that with the right good competition, she could medal or atleast get close to it!

Hmmm...I think everybody's agreed that the mens 100m is #1.

But #2?

How about mens 50m free, or superheavyweight weighlifting, or 4x100, mens or womens, on the track or in the pool? In addition to marathon and decathlon, of course.

No. For you 100m is #1, for many other it is the Marathon. It is also the most mythical event. IMHO 100m/Marathon split then #3 decathlon.

In weightlifting there hasn't been a clean athlete in 50 years (ok that is the same for 100m sprint), no one (except in the US) cares about swimming. Swimming is just plain boring to watch.

Is Paula still planning on the Olympics? I haven't heard a freaking thing from her. Her fans says Paula is so freaking quiet on her website.

Paula is frustrating not wanting to show she is past it. I wasted so much time and I still don't hear anything from Paula.
