This to me is clearly a dig at Rupp. My question is where do you think it comes from? Several options. 1. He doesn't relate to rupp as well because he's more of a 10k/marathon guy whereas teg/solinksy are more like Kennedy was. 2. Kennedy hates Al sal for some reason/possibly thinks they are dirty. 3. Kennedy views himself as a blue-collar runner and rupp as yuppie. Your thoughts? |

He's old and a shallow former jock. |
| oiuuiouuhgghh |

I don't see any dig at Rupp. Kennedy trained with Al Sal and Rupp and used to play video games with Rupp when Rupp was only a teenager, so don't think dirty/blue collar thing is it. |

that's a passive-aggressive diss by omission |

If he wasn't directly asked about Rupp, then it is really irrelevant. JHC there are so many conspiracy people (TMZ types) looking for controversy on this board. Stop trying to play psychologist to people and circumstances with whom you aren't in an informed position to assess - a product of the modern "media-driven" world. |

Also no mention of Alan Webb, Craig Mottrum, Mo Farrah, El Gerrouj, Seb Coe.....he clearly must be taking a dig at all these guys. |

No those runners are different because other than Webb, they aren't American. Not mentioning Webb is understandable for a variety of reasons (not relevant anymore, inconsistent, etc). It may be completely innocent, but it may not be. |

He passively aggressively left out a lot of other people, too. How about Lagat? Ritz, ... |

[/quote] Well, the moron who is pretending to be me is really stupid. You're a little bit wrong as well, but not as wrong as him. The reason, to be precise, that those runners wouldn't be mentioned is Kennedy was discussing athletes he was looking forward to seeing at the U.S. Olympic Trials, which would preclude some of them because they're not Americans and some of them because of that and the fact that they're retired. |

Wait, Rupp is a 10k/marathon guy? He's run 0 marathons and 1 half marathon ever. |

He also didn't mention Lagat, the greatest 5000m runner this country has ever had. Failed to mention Ritz as well, the guy who was the first to run sub 13 since Kennedy. Not mentioning Rupp isn't a big deal. Nothing was meant by it. |

He makes no mention of the guy who staggered across the finish of the 1910 Olympic marathon clear diss |

He did not mention me or my running either. Why does Bob Kennedy hate me? |
| kafafal |

Not only did he not mention me, he didn't mention my family. He bloody hates them all that racist pig. I knew he didn't like the Irish and this just goes to prove it. |
| could it be?? wejo?? |

This is exactly what I was thinking. I train hard, but he didn't say that he respects me. After this post, I am not going to mention Bob Kennedy's name for the rest of the day. OHHH DISSED KENNEDY!! HOW DOES IT FEEL NOW THAT THE SHOE IS ON THE OTHER FOOT?!?! |

OBVIOUSLY Rupp isn't going to get included in any sentence that includes the word "fearless." |

1908 Marathon. Check your sources. |
| i kinda like running |

I don't think Solinsky and Teg are anymore "fearless" than Rupp. Their apparent blue-collar attitudes compared to Rupp are little more than appearances. Tegenkamp, despite showing sub-13 ability, hasn't really been a factor on the world stage since 2007. Nobody on the planet has run faster than 12:50 since then, so you'd think a sub-13 guy with a ton of heart and toughness would consistently be in the mix with the world's top runners. Tegenkamp is not. Solinsky, Mr. Tough Guy himself, looked like a little bitch in Monaco when he got shoved off the track by a dude who probably weighs 100 lbs. And then QUIT the race because of it. He is also a sub-13 (not to mention sub-27) guy who has basically done nothing on the world stage. I'm simply saying, despite the fact that Rupp is seen as kind of a yuppie compared to these guys, they're no more accomplished. And between the 3 of them, Rupp is our best hope for medals. |
