Congratulations Galen. I KNEW you'd be capable of running close to 13 flat, and you made me look prophetic. You're still trailing Lagat, Solinsky, Ritzenhein, Kennedy and Tegenkamp at 5000m. Even though you could have run 12:58.9 last year (and you have peaked on the track), it was still good to see you run what you could have done last season. Way to go, and now you can shoot for a top 5 finish at 10,000m in London, as you are a virtual lock to make the U.S. team.
Although you've done nothing that Solinsky couldn't have done, you are still healthy and should be able to match last season, for better or worse (mostly better). Keep working hard, and although you'll never be able to match the likes of Mo Farah's finish, some of us are impressed that you've gotten to be as good as you are.
