3:56 for 16th and last place! What's the most sub 4 in one race??
He runs in lanes two and three, presumably to "stay out of trouble," yet he almost falls down three times in three laps? If he's going to end up in the back anyway, why not just tuck in and stay put until the racing starts?
He's still rounding into shape, and damn, he still doesn't know how to run in a crowd.
He obviously thinks he's going to still have that novelty surprise kick and dominate everyone with talent. Most people get that out of their heads in high school.
Yeah, what kind of goofball comes back from a long injury to run 3:56? What a clown!
yet another example of how absurd letsrun is. he will be fine. Its one race.

One who isn't anywhere near coming back, or one who likes to run wide and bump into people.

he also had zero kick in that 8 a few weeks ago
Well , well , well , the trials are shaping up nicely as its seems all the "players" look flat ! The door is wide open as this stage.

Just as Vig had planned all along. Looks like little Webber is going to sneak right in there after all.
Yeah wheating needs to spend less time making vids about how mario gets out bed in the morning and more time thinking how he's going to make the Olympic team.
at least he looks better than webb.

No he doesn't. Just because someone takes a few hours a week to have fun doesn't mean they're not training optimally.
3:56 isn't that bad, especially considering the race probably went out quicker than he was ready to run at this point.
he needs to be around 3:52-53 shape at least to be in contention to make the team. He's got time and he'll be fine. He must be looking pretty good in workouts or his coach wouldn't have thrown him to the wolves today. It'll probably just take a few more weeks for his racing to come all the way around.

"It'll probably JUST take a few more weeks for his racing to come all the way around?" Hell, he has just 20 days until the qualifying rounds in the 800 and 26 days for the 1500. He's out of time.

Naw, he's still training through this stuff to come back from injury -- and as we all know, the trials are usually slower races, with smaller fields.
He does well in that environment. So, he is likely to maket the OT final, and has a shot at making the team.
He's got to do two things...progress his fitness to the level it needs to be...and get used to racing again.
Interview said a lot. He needs a pep talk from former teammate rupp on bouncing back after a humbling disappointment.
Fire up wheating, be positive. You'll be back.
