Doing the summer of malmo training, Got this week geared toward 63 miles background 4:55 1600m 10:30 3200m and 17:51 5k building on this program i was doing 6:10-6:25 for my tempo runs this summer so far and workouts of 400m in 1:25-1:30 once a week and a long run on sunday of 10 miles my goals are to run a 16:20 5k or better this fall. My question is will my times get faster as i get used to this training and will it prepare me to race hard this fall?

Just reread the original Summer of Malmo article and draw your conclusions from there. Anytime people start talking about it on here it becomes a trainwreck of terrible ideas.

If you wanna run 16:20 you should start tripling and do speed-work once a day.

This is great advice. When you re-read SOM, you will find that it will prepare you to "train" hard in the fall, which ultimately will lead to better racing. Good luck to you!
