Solid times at the 15th Annual Brian Kraft Memorial 5K in Minneapolis yesterday. Matt Gabrielson and Katie McGregor defended their titles, both breaking their own course records from 2011. 7 men under 15:00, 36 under 16:00 http://raceberryjam.com/2012/kraft5kmen.html 28 women under 20:00 http://raceberryjam.com/2012/kraft5kwomen.html Thanks to everyone who joined us for Minnesota's fastest 5K. |

I ran this race and it reinforces my belief that the Twin Cities is possibly the most competitive metro area in the country in terms of overall depth. The race is on a flat course that circles Lake Nokomis so no net elevation drop. It was the USATF Minnesota Association Individual 5 km Championship but to my knowledge there is no prize money. Out of a field of only 292 men there were 7 under 15:00 (4:49 pace), 37 under 16:00 (5:09 pace), 63 under 17:00 (5:28 pace) and 90 under 18:00 (5:48 pace). Winning time was 14:19. Out of 189 women there were 3 under 17:00, 6 under 18:00, 14 under 19:00, 29 under 20:00 and 44 under 21:00. Winning time was 16:14. |

We do offer a little bit of prize money. It isn't much, but we try to come up with a little something for the top runners. This year's purse: $100/$50/$25 + $100 course record bonuses. |
